Garrett is the opposite of the man of mystery. He is a simple ordinary accomplished Mage that lives peacefully in his home town. His hard studies, intelligence, and knowledge about his surroundings allow him to have a better understanding of magic than any other citizen in his town. While it is possible for anyone to pick up magic, he happens to have a knack for doing so. His parents were Mages of his caliber as well. They would always tell him stories of his Grandfather, Athos, a brilliant Arch-Mage. Although his parents desire him to take on the title, Garrett simply has no interest in doing so, as becoming an Arch-Mage is a task not Mage can take on. A normal Mage would be physically consumed by the power granted to him through the Arch-Mage initiation. If he does survive however, he will be blessed with near infinite magic, and be tasked with keeping the checks in balances in the world. There are a few Arch-Mages present in the world as of now, and Garrett does not wish to join the ranks.

Although his magic ability is good enough for him to be considered an Arch-Mage, he prefers to live freely among his town, without much responsibility other than what he already does in the village. He is afraid that becoming an Arch-Mage is a duty he may have to facer sooner or later in his life.
