Posts: 11,052 Group: Admin Member #3 Joined: November 26, 2006	Max liked that arrangement just fine, obviously exposure to superheated fire and explosive bullets was fatal, but not instantly, Max still was Max for a few seconds, long enough to land the sword strike before his code flashed over him and his programming left his present body, leaving a dead "blank" clone body that flopped down on the ground, it had no equipment or items. Max's code transfered into the body of a jogger about a mile away, who transformed into Max's new body, though still retaining the damage Max had taken in the battle so far as his "death" had not been instantaneous, and he activated his booster jets to fly back to the battle scene at mach 6 to re-engage Phosogene.

As the sword disappeared along with Max's code, the cut in Phosogene's body lit on fire. But then the fire seemed to get absorbed into the material under Phosogene's cloak, emitting in return a healing energy, which fused Phosogene back together again. Phosogene then clenched his fist, and the fire that made the armor and the sword, the white fire still took the shape of the holographic blade, seemed to get pressed flat like a sheet of paper. The fire then spread, looking like an emblem of a little warrior in armor and holding a sword. "Emblem of your hate. Raise again. Be of this element. One slayed by men." The fire then started to spread and grow, and finally took the shape of an enormous dragon. It was the spirit of a dragon killed by one of Phosogene's church's dragon slayers thousands of years before, the spirit now taking on form as pure fire mana. Completely under Phosogene's control not only because it was made from the fire, but also because the dragon's spirit now served Phosogene's church, the dragon turned to look at the oncoming flying agent. Tricked into thinking Max was the dragon slayer that killed her many years ago, the dragon roared and unleashed a blast of fire at Max, then started chasing after him. The dragon's tail would stay near Phosogene, however, the dragon feeling the need to protect its master as well. There was a slight rumbling underground as well, below Phosogene's feet, like the sound of a pipe bending under pressure.

ISIS replied sarcastically to the flustered agent before a holographic wheel of runic symbols appeared in the air around him as Max frantically maneuvered his armor's thrusters to avoid the jets of flame coming from the dragon. Max could use spells even if he didn't personally have them memorized, as long as they were in ISIS's databank. the exact chant of the exorcism ISIS was prepping for Max flashed over the lenses of his shades and Max spoke the incantation properly, a planar vortex appearing and attempting to swallow the summoned dragon spirit, along with several large crosses made of light, but solid to spiritual beings, that would try to box it in and force it through the portal, then seal it away so it couldn't be summoned again. ISIS also automatically checked on the underground rumbling to figure out what it was and report on said battlefield conditions to Max. Max meanwhile was casting Pierce Defense on his weapons, a spell which would allow them to penetrate non-physical barriers of both the active (projectile is stopped or deflected) and passive (projectile is redirected elsewhere) varieties, Max tapped his comlink and created a drill-shaped kinetic barrier around himself and with it flew straight into the ground and tunneled out of sight

What looked like a light green glowing copy of the dragon was sucked into the vortex, but the fire mana dragon remained. What was sucked away was the actual spirit of the dragon that Phosogene had summoned, but what was left behind was the fire mana that the dragon spirit had created to take a form that could interact with the world better. Phosogene, still in control of the mana for having "given birth" to it as he would have called it, waved his hand to have the fire mana follow after Max as he dug into the ground, the mana dragon then sending out blast of fire down after Max into the hole. However, as the mana dragon sent out the blast, pieces of its body seemed to disappear. The mana dragon was not stable without the spirit that had created it. ISIS would find out that there was a continuously increasing magnetic field underground, created by a runic circle with a mile wide radius of all the mercury Phosogene had created. Phosogene had the mercury sink sixty feet into the ground while he stood in place and formed it into an amplification rune, amplifying the natural magnetic field created by the Earth. The two mile covering increased magnetic field seemed to be connected to Phosogene, however, as part of the mercury circle peaked up and was touching Phosogene's feet underground. It might not go well for Max being underground, since the closer one got to the amplification circle the magnetic field would feel greatly stronger. Phosogene then reached out and placed a hand on the fire mana tail that was still around him. He then brought up his other hand and placed it over the eyes of his mask, which then seemed to start to glow red. His hand on the tail then started to glow red as well.

Posts: 11,052 Group: Admin Member #3 Joined: November 26, 2006	once underground, Max waited until all, or at least most of the fire had followed him down as well before releasing the entire stock of compressed air he'd taken in earlier to keep breathing with no trouble, attempting to use it like Superman did with his super breath putting out all the underground fires during the climax of Superman Returns. Max then used his gun to fire another volley of uranium slugs at Phosogene from below, these ones equipped with the pierce defense enchantment so that the portal trick he'd used previously wouldn't work twice. Max had also gone underground for another reason, when he tapped his comlink before, he'd sent a remote signal to a US battleship in the atlantic ocean, which had fired a full broadside of 9 406mm and 6 127mm artillery guns at Phosogene, all depleted uranium. Max cast Pierce Defense on them just before they'd hit and and explode with enormous destructive power, as each shell had a very tiny anti-matter warhead. Max was not bothered by the magnetic field for the moment, his degaussing coils were keeping it in check.

Posts: 5,374 Group: Sage Member #36 Joined: December 1, 2006	When Max released all the compressed air the mana dragon's fire breath was put out, and all the cracks underground that were releasing Phosogene's white fire closed up as well. However, Phosogene's mask was still on fire, and the mana dragon wasn't quite going anywhere just yet. "Rapid Fire!" Phosogene called out, then pointed his glowing hand down exact to where Max was and started shooting bursts of high speed fireballs at the uranium slugs Max had shot at him, pulling a Vash the Stampede, hitting the slugs dead on with his own attack that he was drawing from the mana of the dragon. The moment the fireballs would hit their targets they would explode destructively, intending to destroy the shells fired at Phosogene. Phosogene then acted as if he had eye in the back of his head, as he pointed up his other hand up in the air and started shooting his same exploding rounds at the DU shells fired at him by the battleship. However, Phosogene was only concerning himself with the shots that he saw would hit him. He didn't worry about any stray shells, which included any which might hit the mana dragon. Any shells that would hit the mana dragon would put holes through it, as it would turn out physical attacks on the now unstable mana dragon would turn whichever part was touched into physical fire. Nonetheless, the mana dragon released another fire breath down through the tunnel after Max, testing to see if Max could extinguish the attack again. The metal plumbing under the park then snapped and was pulled towards the amplification circle as the magnetic field got stronger.

Posts: 11,052 Group: Admin Member #3 Joined: November 26, 2006	Max's shots were destroyed. the shells on the other hand were another matter, they exploded...but into hails of supersharpened DU shrapnel! and worse, the explosions of the shells released the anti-matter, which would of course annihilate anything it touched and convert it completely into energy. Max couldn't put out the fire a second time the same way, but he didn't need to, he was just drilling deeper into the ground, so deep that he was now able to tap geothermal power and use it to fuel one of his most powerful weapons. Max unleashed his particle acceleration wave, funneling its energies upwards and turning everything in its path, including the fire that had been part of the dragon and the mercury rune, and quite possibly any parts of phosogene himself that were caught in its path into very dense black rock.

The antimatter was a problem, however. The mana dragon flew towards the antimatter to meet it, causing its mana to turn into matter fire, which then reacted with the antimatter, blowing the dragon away into a giant mass of fire. Phosogene waved his hand upwards, however, having the fire go up into the air to avoid being caught in the acceleration wave. Phosogene himself then needed to avoid the acceleration wave, being able to see it coming it seemed. As the mercury was turned into black rock, the amplification rune shut down. Phosogene saw no more reason to stand in one place any more, since he was just standing there because he needed to be in physical contact with the mercury to keep the rune active. A shadow covered Phosogene, and then he sort of disappeared. In place of Phosogene, however, was a statue of him made of rock. Four other shadows and then statues of rock appeared next to the first Phosogene statue, all turned into black rock by Max's acceleration wave. Max would then find that the temperature of the ground all around the area was going down fairly quickly. Then five tunnels would burst open around Max, the ground moved by earth mana, creating a hollow five point asterisk star around him underground. A blue light was shining from each of the tunnels and getting brighter, or so it seemed, since the lights were getting closer to Max.
