I like the US uniform, do you guys really think blue shorts would look good with that two toned top? I have no problem with the red shorts. As for Donovan, come on some unknown blogger apart, who realistically thinks Donovan would be left off the team? Even with Michael Bradley's continued development as an onfield leader, Donovan to me remains the heart and soul of the US team and as hobbes correctly IMO notes, the one game changing US player out there. |

Decided to reward myself for not getting to go to the Cup in Brasil with a new official jersey from USSF store. It came today and I have to say I like it a whole lot better than most we have had recently and so do my 30 something sons. Instead of a name on the back I had them put USA SOCCER. The red white & blue is pretty cool, but leave it to Nike to screw up the real USA national colors. Instead of a dark or navy blue, the blue is a royal or sky blue. But otherwise it is far better than others in recent years. We also agree the shorts should be blue, but there's no changing it now. As for the Donovan blogger report, my eloquent son who's headed to medical school put it succinctly, "I'm calling bullshit on that report!" |

NO WAY that Donovan is not on the final roster...yes, he's not "lighting up" MLS like I thought he would, but he's still an important part of the team. I still believe that LD in the starting XI, is a strong possiblity & makes us a better team...but he would also be a great supersub! As for the new WC jerseys, they do look better in-person than online but I'll stick with the centennial ones...my all-time favorites

Donovan being a good team player, acknowledging how his role on the team has changed, but also pointing out how he is now able to provide a veteran's perspective and explains how at his age he knows better how to pace himself and be ready for the games. I still maintain come June, Donovan and Bradley will be the US' chief weapons in this World Cup. |
