First chance to post after a busy but great weekend. What a ball having the privelege of meeting Roosevelt and having Shel stop by our modest tailgate! We prepped in fine fashion for the game. As for which is which one of us in the picture, I'm the one in the grubby bluejeans. Roos is the preppy one in slacks! Damn, we forgot to get a picture with Shel! Well, before Zusi came on and brougt the hometown Sporting KC house down, the highlight of the evening were the Outlaws! Wow they were there in numbers and LOUD and organized! Very impressive, they far exceeded anything I had ever seen from Sam's Army, which is saying something. Then after the goal, the party was really on. The organizers must have had a thousand full sized US flags on poles there and it was quite a sight. As for the game, we were pretty impressed with the back line organization and play. The normally veyr ahtletic Reggae Boyz seldom troubled our D at all. Evans was very good on the wing and faster than anyone who went up against him. He was one of the best US players, imo. As Yogi said, Cameron Bessler were rock solid. No one has mentioned how poorly Jozy played. Ugh. Stood around most of the night, made late runs when he even bothered. Kind of miscarriage of soccer justice that he was in the right place for a tap in. Just looked lazy and out of it. At least Landon worked a little harder than him. Johansson was unimpressive to us. Terrible first and second touches and gave away numerous balls. Boy, he needs a lot of touch work or simply had a single bad game, but I would have subbed him first and Altidore second. Jamaica missed a decent chance to catch the US off its game, but maybe our depth is beginining to cover for us unless the oppositon plays really well. But what a great experience and it was so good to meet Roosevelt and see Shel once again!
