I think I listed this one correctly. I am contemplating going, but I really wish to get a tix in the Supporter's section.

Why mess with what's working:

--------------Rimando------------
Parkhurst--Omar---Besler--DMB
-----Beckerman---Diskerud-----
--Corona----Torres----Landon--
-------------Wondo--------------

Subs: Goodson, Holden, EJ (Demolition Man)

Prediction - USA 2-0...goals by Wondo & Omar!!!

Another pretty comprehensive performance from the US. We took our foot off the pedal for awhile after going up 2-0 and surrendered a goal on a set piece -- a recurring problem in this Gold Cup -- but quickly responded. Not much inspiration from Honduras, probably aided by the decision to not start a couple of their best offensive players.

Not doubt Donovan is back, Johnson again finds the net and I thought Bedoya was outstanding, by far the best game I've seen him play for the US.

I thought the U.S. was in second gear for most of the match, but if you score twice in 20, then reply a minute after conceding I can't argue. Plus they should have had two penalties, so certainly dominant enough.

I was surprised Bedoya started ahead of Corona, but he was brilliant.

The officiating was dire, but do you think it was good big picture for Klinsmann to get send off defending his players or should he have kept a little more composure in a match that was over?

Not much to add to the praise previously given to Donovan, Johnson and Bedoya, Overall a solid win for the US, I really liked how the US moved the ball. Klinsmann has created a pretty good team out of this unit.

Bad IMO, he'll be out for the final now. I guess Martin Vasquez will be his stand-in on Sunday.

This US Gold Cup team has turned out to be quite enjoyable to watch! What has been a pleasant surprise throughout this competition is how players who previously were not impressing Shea, Bedoya come to mind, suddenly turn in a good game. Last night it was Bedoya's turn, Klinsmann surprises everyone by starting Bedoya ahead of Corona, I think to give more of a wing threat and to keep Honduras' wing backs honest, and it sure paid off as Bedoya played what I think was his best game as a US player.

The main goals of this tournament were to rehabilitate Donovan, that has been more than accomplished; to give Beasley more opportunities to develop as a left back, also accomplished; and to find additional depth for the full team, another goal which has been reached. Come what may in Sunday's final, this Gold Cup has been a complete success.

He could have defended his players without getting sent off. A rare mistake IMO by Klinsmann as otherwise his handling of this team has been impeccable.

Quite surprised that Corona, Wondo & Diskerud didn't start but EVERYTHING that JK is doing is working perfectly ;)

Landon is playing like a man possessed & LOVE how the team keeps responding to ANY slight adversity!

Hope JK is not banned for the final :(

I saw Vince Stravino on UniMas. They zoomed in on him and a very large man in a small pink tank top right after the national anthem.

Anyone going to Chicago for the final on Sunday? I'm giving it very serious thought. Pretty sure there will be lots of tickets available now that we know it's US v Panama in the championship game.

US looked great. I think last night was a more dominant performance than the higher scoring win over El Salvador in the quarterfinals. I thought the US dominated the entire game except for one or two mistakes on defense. Wondo certainly was fouled enough on the late non-PK call but was sportsmanlike enough to fight through the challenge instead of going down easily.

Although Honduras did get a goal back they never looked like they put the US under real pressure. I think Bedoya may have lost his mark on the freekick that led to Medina's headed goal but otherwise he did a great job attacking down the right.

The Hondurans last night were vulnerable to Rt 1 soccer. Defenders were pretty flat footed and lost contact with US runners on balls over the top, or headflicks onward from Eddie Johnson, or Landon Donovan's one touch pass (ball out of back from Goodson) to EJ on the initial goal.

A little sorry not to see a US-Mexico final but it's also good to see that the favorites have to earn the right to play there.

Half the time I watch a Man U game, Alex Ferguson seems to be watching from the stands with a smirk on his face after a disciplinary ban. I'd say Jurgen should borrow sir Alex' secret James Bond communications device but these days they probably both have cellphones.

Did Vince have the beard or was he on the other side of the guy in the pink number?

What's Vince doing hanging out with guys in tight, pink tank tops?

Guilty as charged. Ya gotta love the open seating in the Supporters section. Front row worked for me last night. Several bearded wide-bodies had my flanks, but, truly, I have no recollection of a guy in a tiny pink tank top. Be glad your televisions don't have Smell-a-round. Let's just call it funky in the section.

The stadium is pretty ridiculous. Maybe too much so for my tastes.

80% Mexican fans (no surprise). US/Hondurans split 50-50, I'd say.

The AO tailgate deserves a mention. Quality microbrews, icy and on tap, as well as a stupendous grill working that was manned by a single guy for several hundred folks.

It was a fairly dominating performance. It never felt like we were not in control. Two early (sweet) tallies can give you that feeling. Donovan is rolling. Holden showed some quality as well, but was not quite where he needs to be. Beasley was strong in a quiet way.

It looked like the ref was going to do everything possible not to issue cards. He succeeded, but it was getting choppy.

They won't suspend Klinsmann. After all, he is Klinsmann and he said all the right things after the match. He will be on the sidelines Sunday.

I'm with Vince, Honduras looked very vulnerable to the US' direct attack in this game. Surprising in some ways as previously Honduras defense looked pretty good but the US attacked them very well. Good job by Klinsmann and his staff, as they have done throughout this tourney, in breaking down the opposition and coming up with the right tactical plan to attack them.

Not much to add to what has already been stated except to say Parkhurst, after a slow start, is looking more comfortable at right back. Something to consider if down the road Cherundolo and Chandler are not available.

Vince must have hit the tailgate pretty hard to not remember a large guy in a tight pink tank top standing nearby!
