Botia of Sporting the centreback also had a fine tournament, both he and Thiago Alcantara were the players who above all else who really made a name for themselves in this competition for Spain. Others like Mata, Martinez, Ander Herrera, DeGea, etc were already pretty well known among fans of La Liga. Both Botia and Thiago Alcantara however are now players who people throughout Europe will be standing up and taking notice.

That is a good point, although Botia I am sure is well known to fans of Sporting where he was one of the better central defenders in Spain this past season. But Thiago, whose 40 meter goal was spectacular, is as so many others have already stated, the guy who really caught your attention in this tournament. Barcelona are smart, I think they know what they have and this tourney could be the springboard for Thiago to jump up to the enxt level. He now has the confidence to go along with his ability.

Great Britain the host country at London 2012. Has it been decided if that will be a combined team from England, Scotland, Wales & No. Ireland? Or will it just be an England U23?

Nope.

We seemed closer to an agreement last week but the other home nations have reacted angrily to that suggestion.
