World's Most Annoying Player!

I found this an unsurprising choice,

Former Champions League ref says officials know Ronaldo is a diver :D

FIFA Top Class Referee Claus Bo Larsen worked his final Champions League match this week (Ajax's 2-0 win over AC Milan) and mere hours into his retirement, he's apparently already dishing dirt from the officials' dressing rooms.

When asked by Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet to pick the "most annoying player" from a referee's perspective, he reportedly went with the name you're probably shouting at your screen right now -- a man well known for both his superior skill and tendency to tumble, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ha, yeah not such a massive surprise.

One rival who is not quite so high profile these days might have been Patrick Vieira. I always noticed how he would practically man-mark the referee, constantly jabbering complaints and protests in the ref's ear. That's got to do your head in after an hour and a half of it! :P

Even though I was a fan of Mascherano when he was at Corinthians, I have to say he is the most annoying player of all. Not only will he dive, he will hack as well.

That is true about Vieira but he was not the only player who would carry on a conversation with the referee throughout a match. Roy Keane was never shy about expressing his thoughts to the officials either.

Of course this prize is all for the post Vinnie Jones world because nobody in recent times was as annoying to referees and opponents as "Big Chris!"

Hristo Stoitchkov could challenge Vinnie Jones for the most annoying of all time prize. he was constantly talking with the referees and opponents.

Ronaldo does not talk that much but it is all about the way he acts, even today vs Zaragoza after scoring he gave this look which made you wish you could reach through the TV screen and hit him!

Oh but he is our lovable hated player! ;) Actually Ronaldo's anics get on my nerves sometimes too but he is one of those players who seems to flourish when opposing fans are whistling him.

Luis Suarez the cannibal of Amsterdam who bit an opponent on the neck, has to be on this list somewhere.

Oh and there was that infamous handball this past summer too!

Well at least Vieira no longer puts that vapor rub on the front of his shirt as he used to. I do not know why but that just to always annoy me, Mrs. Pither did not like it either and once remarked when he came on the screen during his Arsenal days, "Why did they give him a stained shirt?"

As for Cristiano Ronaldo, well he, his coach and their club are turning into pantomine villains!

Haha I'm sure a few people would at least raise an eyebrow at the idea that Mourinho is merely turning into a pantomime villain! :P

Yeah, but this thread is about players & not the guys on the sidelines. We can point to many in that category.

LOL, if annoying players are defined by their diving regularlity, then my thoughts turn to my favorite CONCACAF national teams to watch and chuckle at, the Hondurans and Costa Ricans..... :D
