Welcome to the message board super dror. Well you've asked a difficult question, one which is really hard to quantify I think. How do we compare teams like the great DiStefao-Puskas-Gento Real Madrid teams or the Eusebio led Benfica squads which domianted the early days of the old European Cup but who played in a completely different era from what we know now to more modern teams which play in the Champions League where 3 or 4 teams per country are able to compete.

And how to you compare teams on what they did solely in Europe or their domestic achievements as well? Manchester United's 1999 team won the triple- league, Cup and European title in one season yet they aren't on your list of available selections. Nottingham Forest who won consecutive European crowns in the late 1970's have more European titles [2] than domestic ones [1]. Milan dominated European play in 1988-1990 but lost out on the Serie A title those years to Inter and Napoli.

So for me it is very hard to quantify the best teams in European history.
