Hello,

Not long ago i discovered about your project and i like it very much, but i havve few questions

1... what is the difference between 'Medžuslovjanski' and 'Slovianski'? Is it the same language?
2... is it true that Slovianski is continyation of Slovio?
3... who is the autor?

There is a discussion on rusyn wikipedia http://rue.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%B2%D1%8F%D0%BD%D1%8C%D1%81%D0%BA%D1%8B%D0%B9_%D1%8F%D0%B7%D1%8B%D0%BA. What is the better name, Славяньскый язык, Словяньскый язык or Міджіславяньскый язык?

Well, I would say that Interslavic (Medžuslovjanski) is a language, while Slovianski is one of several ways to write it. Practically, there is hardly any difference at all. Slovianski is quite explicit about not being hermetic about rules, so basically you can say that any text written in Interslavic is automatically a text written in Slovianski as well. In any case, it can definitely NOT be said that Slovianski and Interslavic are two different languages, it's rather a matter of one language with several names. If anything, you might say that Interslavic is the name of the language, while Slovianski is the name of the project working on it.

2... is it true that Slovianski is continyation of Slovio?

I take it you are referring to the things written on www.novoslovianski.com? No, that is something the creator of Slovio very much wants us to believe (calling other projects "plagiarised Slovio clones" and the like), but none of it is true. What really happened is that Slovio has never been very successful among Slavs, and back in 2006 several people started pondering about a more natural Interslavic language, which led to several sketches (Slovianski-P, Slovianski-N, GS-Slovianski etc.). Mr. Hučko has been extremely hostile towards these efforts from the very beginning. He obviously considers himself the owner of the whole concept of an Interslavic language, which is kind of odd if you consider that Slovio was primarily meant to be used as a global language (i.e. a rival to Esperanto). When other projects than Slovio started being more successful than his own Slovio, he started buying Internet domains under their names and filling them with false information. The page I mentioned is an example of that. It claims to inform about Slovio dialects, but in fact it was only written in an effort to discredit Slovianski, which is perhaps best illustrated by the fact that it doesn't even mention a few REAL Slovio offshoots, like Ruslavsk and Interslovio. See http://izviestija.info/memorandum-ix-2011.html for more about this. So no, Slovianski is definitely not based on Slovio in any way. It is part of a tradition that predates Slovio by several centuries. Of course, there is very little about Slovianski that is original, but then, why should a language like that even try to be original?

3... who is the autor?

You mean Interslavic or Slovianski? Well, I would say: nobody. Interslavic has been in existence for about four centuries, and it is basically whatever the person who is using it, makes of it. The first grammar was written by Juraj Križanić, but does that make him the author of the language? I doubt it, since all the material comes straight from the Slavic languages. That goes for Slovianski as well. In my opinion Slovianski is the work of a group of people who collectively make certain choices, but as far as I am concerned, everybody is the author of whatever he has written about the language, but the language itself does not have an author.

To tell you the truth, Wikipedia is a mess when it comes to Interslavic.
"Slavjanski" and "Slovianski" mean exactly the same thing, namely "Slavic". IMO it is wrong to treat "Slovianski" as a label without considering its meaning. After all, WP.EN has an article about "German language" and not about "Deutsch", right? If the name of a language can be translated, then so it should be. The problem is only that "Slavic" is already the name of a family of languages; Polish is also a "Slavic language". That's why I much prefer "Interslavic" (or rather, a translation thereof), because it is self-explaining. In my opinion, the Ukrainian version comes closest to what such an article should look like.

Cheers,
Jan

That's VERY true, indeed. :D
Glasovanje je čista gluposť. Voting is a pure nonsense.
Pišem slovjansky. I write Slovianski.

my goodnes, I spent several minutes by deciphering the meaning of this sentence :)
which sentence?
Please consider 3 levels of "tests" for word formulation:

1. Logical, Analytical or Commonly Slavic
2. That it "makes sense" - to the people (not just the creators) - "will the people both accept & use it?"

3. Avoid "conflicts"
