Yes, but hang on. The fact that we are using English on this forum most of the time, doesn't prove at all that there's something wrong with the project itself. You can find lots of written Slovianski on Facebook, on Izvestija etc. Everybody is free to use it on this forum as well, it's just that most of us can communicate more freely in English. And a work in progress is not necessarily the best medium for discussions about its development. For example, I could have written the same thing in Interslavic, it's just that it would cost me twice as much time. If Interslavic were to be the only language of communication here, I'm afraid the number of participants would decrease and many conversations would be limited to oneliners. For now, that is. |

of course
of course, but most (all?) of ukrainian who speak ukrainian can comunicate freely in russian. And most slovak in czech. So why they make this choice? Of course we here are not a nation, but IMHO who else should give an example of good will?
that seems to be very good reason, but is it really? question: why is not best medium? answer: because is lacking of useful, widely understandable terminology. question: why answer: because this terminology is still undeveloped in this language question: why answer: because nobody use it so nobody need it.
true, but you see only a disadvantage. It is also has an advantage: what we will write will be more thoughtful.
again it also has an advantage: if you wish to speak about dogs you need participants who like dogs. Even if is only 10 of them. Other 100 cat lovers may want to participate as well, but are their comments are really helping? |

All that is true, but let me remind you that it's written nowhere that discussions must take place in English. Everybody is free to write in Ukrainian, Russian, French, Interslavic or whatever. But I'd surely welcome more conversation IN the language. It's a pity that it happens all the time on Facebook, but here not too often. |

Ok, od sego časa bųdų pisati toliko medžuslovjanski!:) |
| My Interslavic shortly - no i/y disinction and o/e rule enforced (byti>biti x biti>biti, svežego x dobrogo), soft consonants ń, ĺ, ď, ť, ŕ, ě/e merged, ę->ja, no syllabic r/l (torg, deržava, volk, dolgi), tl/dl clusters preserved (midlo, metla), CroC, CloC, CreC, CleC (grod, glova, breg, mleko), 1st sg. ending -u, 3rd pl. ending ut/jat (delaju, čuju, molvju x delajut, čujut, molvjat). Basically, a heavy Western flavour with some Eastern elements. | |

I'm afraid that without hard work it wouldn't work anyway. At the best we'll end up with an English-calque slavlang. |

Glasovanje je čista gluposť. Voting is a pure nonsense. Pišem slovjansky. I write Slovianski. http://www.conlangs.fora.pl/index.php http://steen.free.fr/interslavic/dynamic_dictionary.html http://dict.interslavic.com/index.jsp | |
