It seemed like in the span of only a few minutes, Gust had completely lost sense of what was happening. People were areriving, leaving, arriving again, and all seemingly more wounded then before. He had actually taken a seat for a good five minutes because he had gotten tired of trying to follow everyone.

He had caught David's plan, most of it anyway, so he had a generally clear picture of what they were going to set out to do. If they could ever get going to begin with.

"So, where are we headed?"

Gust took this opportunity to get to his feet.

"Bogga, if we ever decide to get moving, my friend." He looked around before glancing over at David.

"Alright fearless leader, I say we should be off now!" His manner was more dramatic then needed, but he felt something should be done to shake everyone into motion. He then slung his arm around Shade's shoulders and began to direct both himself and his newfound armrest in a random direction.

Yes, it was probably wrong. And yes, Gust knew this. He was just banking on the idea that David would point him in the right direction and they could get going. And if not, well, at least he wouldn't get lost alone.

Having the full confidence of the group helped David continue on with his plan. But before he did that, he helped Volke up to his feet before turning to the west. He had picked a good meeting place in retrospect, considering that the spot in the forest that they were all at was roughly half-way between Luminus and the port they needed to get to. "Alright, let's be on our way." David said, walking forward towards the port.

"David!" A voice cried, faintly.

David sighed, recognizing the voice immediately, and turned around just in time to be tackled to the ground by his child-hood friend, Julia Dilectio. "Yes, Julia?" David asked, slightly embarassed.

"I heard that you were going off somewhere, and i wanted to go with you." She said, getting straight to the point.

David, feeling slightly pressed for time, didn't feel like arguing the issue. "Fine. We've got to get going, though." David said, again turning to the west, walking towards the port, their first stop on their way to Bogga.

"Damn it all.." Volke was clearly on his way until David stepped in. If achirion hadn't been knocked unconscious everyone probably could have flown to Bogga, but sadly now the long way was the only choice.

"Not to be rude, but can we please hurry." Volke looked out into the distance and mumbled to himself,"who knows how long she'll be there.." Volke walked by himself and got ahead of Shade and Gust. Knowing she was out there kept Volke flustered at the fact he was so far away.

Elswhere in the negative realm, Ziekfried stood watching his brother through a portal. "I ask for a little cooperation, and instead I get the whole squad of losers." Ziekfried wanted to punch something but had nothing to hit. He closed his eyes and gave a loud sigh. "Just a minor setback, thats all it is. If things take too long, I'll just speed up the process." Ziekfried chuckled to himself and left eh realm through another portal opening.

"You summoned me, my lord?" Dorian asked politely.

The newly-created Dorian Sanctus stood, bowing, in Ravenmane's meeting room at the far end of his table. Around the table were some of the top-ranking officials in Ravenmane's army, including Tai-kuun, general of the blades division, Diliris, General of the archer's division, Ularin, general of the cavalry division, and Sigmus van Maruche IV, Commander of the continent, Drayhal. Ravenmane sat at the head of the table. "Why yes, i did." Ravenmane responded.

"In the past several hours, i've had two encounters with individuals who are a part of the same group. While none of the presiding members of the group are significantly threatening to either Sarius or myself, I would prefer to monitor their growth for future reference. You, Dorian, look the most human out of all of the zombies in my army, and therefore, are the best candidate for such a job." Ravenmane said.

"I would be honored to be of service." Dorian said.

"Excellent. Your task, then, will be to infiltrate the group. Keep tabs on all of them, gain their trust. Make sure none of them die. when the time comes, you are to report back to me all information you have found." Ravenmane said, in a very serious tone.

"Yes, my lord." Dorian said.

With a bow, the newly-created zombie disappeared from sight, re-appearing on the continent of Quietus, inside the home of the owner of the port David and his group were heading towards. "Who are you?" the owner asked, frightened, as Dorian drew his rapier, Saevio.

"Your assailant." Dorian responded, slashing his blade once diagonally to the left, leaving a huge mark on the man's body. As the man fell to the ground, Dorian slashed his blade once more, cleaning the blood off the blade, and sheathed it. Using his Transmutative abilities, he altered the chemical composition of the blood, making it purely water. The result made it appear as if something had been spilled and eliminated the tell-tale scent. From there, he telekinetically lifted the man's body, moved it out of the house, and threw it as far as the eye could see out into the ocean, watching as it sunk to the depths of the ocean. Now, the house was virtually his. He grinned with satisfaction as he waited for David and his group to arrive.

Volke finally reached the docks. He stood there tapping his foot for awhile and began to mumble again. "So help me if she's gone because these guys and there lackadaisical pace.." Volke wasn't used to the whole group dynamic thing and wasn't making an effort to get to know any of these guys. If I'm going to be stuck with them I might as well try to be friendly.. Slowly he stopped tapping his foot and gave a calming sigh. With a mile on his face, he called out to the others,"I found the place everybody! Hurry so we can get the best pick of the boats."

Volke just smiled and closed his eyes. A bead of sweat rolled down his cheek. He thought to himself, "Oh who am I kidding, they'll never by this."

All of a sudden Volke felt a tap on the shoulder. Still in an awkward phase he turned his head just enough to see a figure in the corner of his eye. Chuckling he spat out,"You must be the owner of these fine boats."

The very instant Dorian had vanished from the meeting-room, Sarius warped into existence. He appeared in a leaning posture against the wall directly behind Ravenmane. Just as before, his entrance was without flash or fanfare. It was almost as if he wished to remain stealthy. Or maybe he just didn't conform to the whole, "Fiery Explosion Entrance" cliche.

His arms were crossed over his thick chest, and the shadows of what could be construed as a smirk marked his otherwise grim features. Decessus hung lazily at his side, almost like a harmless decorative piece. Almost.

"You're playing a dangerous game, Raven," he said. Though the subject was serious, his tone conveyed an otherwise joking tone, or at least as much of a joking tone as was possible from Sarius. It equated to a friendly jab at another's decisions, which Sarius may have thought to have been silly, or unnecessary.

Yet at the same time if one were to muse over the reasoning behind whatever Sarius did or said, one must first be sure of what he was doing or referring to. Case in point, was it Ravenmane's desire to spy upon that he was making fun of, or was it Raven's choice to send in Dorian that Sarius found interesting?

Nonetheless, it was cause enough to invoke at least this visit into Ravenmane's fortress. Or maybe Sarius was just bored.

Ravenmane stood from his seat, and turned around to face "King" as his commanding officers all stood and bowed to the God. Ravenmane merely smirked as Sarius spoke his phrase. "And as you yourself should know, Sarius, the greater the danger the greater the reward." Ravenmane said, as Sigmus handed him a neatly-organized folder. On its cover was a picture of a handsome, yet imposing, demon in its human form. It had long, white hair that flowed down to its mid-back, and piercing yellow eyes. Below the picture were the words "Azarael Aduro".

"Sigmus brought this man to my attention. He lived in Dysorino while Sigmus was charged with controlling the continent." Ravenmane stopped there, noting that Sarius was uninterested.

"Now here is why this is important. This man, Azarael Aduro, created a technique that could bring a person back to life from the dead at the cost of the user's soul." Ravenmane paused for a moment, opening the folder to the page giving details, and handing the folder to Sarius. "He, however, died after using the technique to resurrect his son. Through that Ressurection, Azarael passed the technique onto his son, who is currently leading the group that Dorian was sent to spy on."

He looked at Sarius, an ambitious glint in his eye. "When that child grows strong enough, I can harvest his shadow... It can be put into a shell... We will finally be able to bring her back, Sarius." Ravenmane said, at the risk of his own personal well-being.

~~~~~
Elsewhere, Dorian was greeted by the group he was told to spy on. As he observed their ranks, he kept a peaceful smile on his face, while he masked his true thoughts as to prevent his mind from being read. *Well then... I was expecting a good portion more...* Dorian thought, as he tapped the shoulder of the first to arrive.
"Greetings. My name is Dorian Sanctus. I'd like to welcome you and your group to the Quietus Harbor. As you've guessed, I'm the owner of the vessels. Jusding from the fact that you're boarding one of my ships, you must be bound for Tanis. Well then, i've got just the vessel for such a voyage." Dorian said, beckoning them over to the nearest, and grandest, boat.
"I'd like to introduce you to my finest boat, The Grand Crown. Right this way, if you would." Dorian said, walking up the gang-way leading into the ship.
"Where...Where am I?" A pair of light purple eyes began to reveal themselves in the darknesss. The voice was feminine and by the sound of the voice, the girl was scared.
A door began to slowly open. The girl's eyews began to focus and saw a man stepping through. It was Ziekfried who ahd crossed through. "I see you have finally awoken. To answer your question, you are in the darkest depths of my castle."
The young woman tried to move her arms, but felt herself chained to the wall and held against her will. "What do you want with me, I've done nothing wrong."
Ziekfried gave a wry smile to the girl and slowly began walking towards the girl. "Ah.. is that what you think? You my dear, have a power locked away that could change one's destiny." Ziekfried placeed his hand on the girl's delicate face and moved it through her hair. "Not only do you have a power I need, but you are an important key to my brother's destruction."
"Who's your brother?"
Ziekfried's cocky grin turned into a frown of dsimay. He knew the girl was unconcious up to this point and didn't see the face of her captor. However he still couldn't feel nothing but disgust for the girl who asked such a naive question. "My brother little Sakuya, is Migueria Tuvai!!"
Sakuya's eyes widened at what she had heard. "No it can't be. I thought you abandoned Surf and never returned?"
"All very true, however I came back that fateful day to take the most powerful thing in Surf. And now that I have it, I just need one more component before I open the demon world portal." Ziekfried backed away from the girl and with a snap of his fingers, the chains vanished.
"Now my dear, we shall take our leave for I need to set up the Ceremony"
Ziekfried grapped the girl's arm and opened up a portal beside him. Sakuya was fighting hard to resist and managed to break free with a cheap shot below the belt. Ziekfried recovered a minute too late only to see Sakuya flee. Running through the portal tears were flowing from cheaks in hope, she could find her love.
Ziekfried could only laugh at what happened. "Thats it, run and find him. For you have only made my job easier."
Volke followed Dorian up the ramp into the Grand Crown. "My, what a fine boat indeed." Volke walked along the deck peering out into the see. Something about the see, just put him at ease. Volke looked on for a couple more minutes when he turned around to see Dorian. "I just hope she's as fast as she is beutiful." Volke faced back to the see, and unsheathed his dark dawn. He slowly began to play a melody common to his village. The Sonata of Surf was a soothign sound and pleasant to the ears. It brought Volke back to a happier time in his past, as he watched the sea.
What was it that made men obey? Perhaps in this case, 'men' was too subjective a term for Ravenmane's officers, but the idea remained unchanged nonetheless. What caused them to follow their leader? Was it admiration? Respect? A sense of debt, as if they owed Raven something? Or perhaps it was simply fear, the simplest solution Sarius could come up with.
Whatever the case, it was worth little when it translated over from one God to another. Mayhaps they all did serve Raven's commands for some higher reasoning, but if that was the case then what obligation made them bow to him? Certainly they were on the same side, but what was it really? A soldier obeys a superior officer not because of superiority, but because the soldier has something to lose if he doesn't. What did they have to lose?
In his musings, Sarius was only half listening to Ravenmane.
"And as you yourself should know, Sarius, the greater the danger the greater the reward."
It didn't help that the man's words were not only cliche'd, but boring as well. But Sarius entetained himself with his own notions of thought.
He couldn't help but draw parallels between Ravenmane's men and his own. He had noted time and time again that each soldier was just that. A soldier. Not in the sense that they were soldiers used for the pure service of fighting, but instead theyw ere each a singular being, their own unique persona left whole and intact for their own use. Thousands of seperate minds bowing to Raven's will of their own volition. Of their own choice. Or rather, as much choice as one had when they underwent Raven's methods of transmogrification.
Sarius's warriors were far from seperate, thinking, reasong entities. They were also far from mortal. They no longer even subtlely resembled whatever beings they once were. Human, elf, angel, demon, whatever creature was unlucky to be ensared was shoved into the melting pot and molded into something entirely new. A horiffic abomination of just sickening genius, they operated not as many unique entities, but as one whole being. Thousands of warriors with one single mind, a single consciousness that controlled their every thought and enacted their every move.
Sarius's mind. His own will dominated his beasts' otherwise mindless lust for bloodshed, forced their ferocity to flow in whatever way he pleased. They knew nothing of fear, loyalty, service. They obeyed because they were forced to obey. Choice, if any existed, was reft from them. They were drones, slaves, robots to his every command. Only a handful had been allowed a shred of singular thought, and even that paled in comparison to what a true thinking individual was capable of processing on their own.
Sarius had entirely missed whatever it was Ravenmane had said next, but eyed a folder that had been handed to the man with disinterest. It was the next set of words that perked Sarius's interest, garnered his attention.
"Now here is why this is important. This man, Azarael Aduro, created a technique that could bring a person back to life from the dead at the cost of the user's soul."
The folder was handed to him, and Sarius took it with a growing sense of ambition. As he examined it and its contents, Raven went on.
"He, however, died after using the technique to resurrect his son. Through that Ressurection, Azarael passed the technique onto his son, who is currently leading the group that Dorian was sent to spy on. When that child grows strong enough, I can harvest his shadow... It can be put into a shell... We will finally be able to bring her back, Sarius."
Rath sensed rather than saw the careful hesistance ravenmane had used in expressing his notion. It was easily understood, Sarius had done unspeakable horrors to those who had shown disrespect to the woman which was being referred to. In this case, Sarius let it pass.
"Indeed," he said, his voice steady and monolithic. "I think it is time we move things along. The child has much more to grow, and little time to do it in."
It was dark, and the forest stretched out for miles. It was quiet except for the heavy panting of someone. Sakuya had been running as fast as she could since going through the portal. She didn't know where she was and only thought of Migueria. Eventually she came across a giant oak tree to rest upon. Any more running and her legs would have given out.
Tears began to flow from her eyes. "Why Ziekfried?, why....."
A bunch rhetorical questions of course, seeing as how no one was there, or so she thought. A voice came from the shadowy direction she came from. It said, "Because that my dear is my ill fated destiny."
Sakuya looked up and saw Ziekfried slowly coming from the shadows. Stumbling, the girl began to run away. The forest had become an endless sea of trees that soon appeared to be a labyrinth. Miraculously, Sakuya found herself in the center of the "labyrinth." Visible due to the moon's light, appeared the biggest tree of the forest. It was from this tree that the rest of the forest grew and spread. A portal opened from behind her, and Ziekfried stepped out.
"Beautiful isn't it. It is here where the ancient demons prayed to their guardians and made sacrifices to them. As you can probably see, that tree also has a castle fused within it. Now derelict, this castle was where the former demon king once reigned. The name of this place you may ask, is Rysdohrec Mersdoeha. It is with your help, that me and this castle shall relocate and conquer the demons."
Sakuya had a look of horror on her face. Boldly she slapped him in the face."Your no better than the dark gods. Wanting to enslave people and conquer everything, you’re despicable. "
Ziekfried had grown quite frustrated. He felt his face, which was now warm, and glared at the girl with rage. Ziekfried began to raise his spiritual energy sending Sakuya to the ground. "Stupid girl you have no idea. I'm simply restoring the demons to their former glory. A glory once held before half bred demons existed. I had given hope for my clan, for demons, and for gods. I'm simply doing what needs to be done, even if it means sacrifices."
Ziekfried walked up to the girl and slightly lifted her head. He put his index and middle fingers to her forehead and released dark impulses. Ziekfried angrily said "sleep." The girl slowly began to fade and just fell asleep. Tossing her over his shoulder, Ziekfried proceeded into the forgotten structure.
Gust broke away from the others when they boarded the ship and walked over to the bow. He leaned for the side, gazing first at the water and then examining the ship itself. His opinion mirrored Volke's.
"She's certainly a looker."
He patted the hull as he broke away from the bow, ignoring the odd desire to spread his arms out and shout something anti-climatic and cliche'd. Instead, he took his sword off his back and laid it down before plopping down on the deck right next to it. He leaned back against the side, hands behind his head.
"I'm assuming that we'll be departing soon? We have places to go, people to see, baddies to put in their place. Time's a-wastin'!"
It was probably for the better he didn't begin talking like a pirate. That would come later, after maybe a drink or two.
"But if you don't go, who am I going to dance with?"
"Fine, fine I'll go."
"Great, make sure your at the Grand Hall at six o'clock ok?"
"yeah..."
It was about noon in Surf. The new village leader had been determined and a party would be thrown for him later in the evening. Volke had returned home after being badgered by Sakuya to attend. He had found a note saying that his mother went out, and his brother and father were gone as well. His brother as usual wasn't home. Ziekfried was part of a military group known as BaloN and was stationed at one of the base facilities living out his their father's hopes and expectations. His father was also out. Volke's father being the leader of the Tuvai clan took part in the village council and was off doing his diplomatic duties with other clans.
"Terrific..." Volke sat down and decided to read up on his family history. Boring as it was he had stumbled across some missing pages. When he checked other books on Tuvai history, pages were missing out of them as well. Being off a young age he didn't understand, and just let it go. Under the impression his father must've needed those pages, Volke decided to get ready for the party.
He had a nice black suit with a collar that had gold pattern on it. Now all dressed the hour of the party drew near. Volke walked into the Grand Hall and marveled at its design. The ceiling was made of glass and revealed the moonlit sky. Oddly enough a shooting star began to pass over the grand hall. Volke looked back down and saw Sakuya standing there in an elegant blue dress.
Smiling towards him she simply chuckled and walked up to him. Quickly grabbing his hand, she dragged Volke into the middle of the dance floor.
"Wait a minute, I didn't say anything about dancing..."
"Oh don't worry you'll be fine."
Sakuya adjusted Volke to the proper dancing position, and thus began their waltz. A bit stiff and awkward, Volke stopped and began to walk away. Sakuya didn't give up on him and pulled him back. This time the two were dancing beautifully.
All of a sudden everything was shaking. Volke jumped slightly when he realized he was daydreaming. Now fully awake, Volke realized the ship had begun to move. Quickly regaining his composer, Volke gave a sigh and said, "Finally..." he walked away from the railing and found a seat inside the ship where he could be alone.
Dorian's Grand Crown was indeed a fine vessel. It was abouy as tall as the house Dorian resided in, and three times larger. As he walked up the gangway, he looked down, believing that he saw a spot of blood on the gangway, dismissing it as he continued on his way. Instad, he searched through the inside of the vessel, admiring the craftsmanship. After several minutes, he found a door that was partially opened, a thin way of light shining through. David walked into the room, observing the fine bedroom, assuming it to be Dorian's. He was about to leave the room when suddenly, a photograph caught his eye. It was a black and white picture of a small, balding man in suspenders, black boots, and a flannel shirt. Puzzled, David observed the photograph. He placed it back in its location, leaving the room. He traveled around a bit more, locating a vacant room which he claimed as his own. Feeling tired, he placed his violin and quiver of bows on a chair near the back of the room, and laid down on the mattress, exhausted.
Downstairs Volke found the room he wanted and made himself as comfortable as possible. The room was a bit large in size and had a comfortable bed to sit on. Volke didn't need much more than that. As he sat down on the bed, Volke unsheathed his Dark Dawn and placed next to him. About to lie down, Volke suddenly heard a knock on the door. Giving off a groan, Volke put on his the most fake smile and went to answer the door. However, no one was on the other end and Volke was left puzzled.
As Volke turned around he saw his brother Ziekfried standing before him. Wh.. Why are you here? I don't want to fight but if you leave me no other choice... Ziekfried just chuckled and motioned for his brother to calm down. "Relax. I'm not here to fight. Besides, are you willing to risk everyone on this vessel? One stray shot, and this thing will sink.” Ziekfried found a nice armchair and took it upon himself to sit down. "Time certainly is a valuable thing. Your just wasting yours aren’t you. Ravenmane knows Sakuya is waiting in Bogga for you, and at the rate you’re going she'll be gone."
Volke was in awe. He knew he encountered the Dark God before, but why would he make a move so soon. Volke was about to say something but Ziekfried interrupted. "However since his plans interfere with my own, I'm going to help you." Ziekfried got up and looked out the room's window at the large sea. "There's a traitor on board. He's the means of finding Sakuya by hanging around you. Once you reach Tanis, use any aggression possible to escape the traitor." Ziekfried patted his brother's shoulder "Then with Ravenmane and the traitor gone, we can finish where we started in Surf." Ziekfried opened a portal and stepped through, looking back at his brother for merely a second.
Volke left bewildered couldn't believe that one of his "friends" was a traitor. "Pfft.." Volke sat back down on his bed simply staring at his beloved Dark Dawn.
Meanwhile deep in the lower levels of Rysdohrec Mersdoeha, Ziekfried watched a sleeping Sakuya. "My dear, you don't know just how much controversy you've created around here." With each passing second, Ziekfried grew anxious. Planting seeds of doubt, mistrust, and hatred in his brother, Ziekfried felt his greatest plan coming to fruition.
Throughout the entirity of Ziekfried's conversation with Volke, Dorian continued to grow progressively more enraged. He may have been a new-born zombie, but being a creation of Alistair's, specifically after Ziekfried's audacious invasion of Seraveyna, he had a deep-seated hatred of the man. Aside from hatred, he found Ziekfried to be rather ignorant, having the knowledge to find information on Dorian's idendity as a traitor, but not his name nor abilities. He sighed, and instead proceeded to steer the Grand Crown, which began to draw nearer to Tanis, whose coastline became visible. Dorian teleported from the ship, which, at the current conditions, would proceed directly to the next harbor.
Upon landing on the docks of the harbor, Dorian found that no one was located within, feeling rather apathetic towards the entire scenario. He entered the house, removing any paraphenilia belonging to the man who inhabited the harbor located on Quietus before teleporting back to the helm of the ship.
Volke had grown tired of sitting cooped up in his room. He had found the room getting rather stuffy. Seeking fresh air, Volke departed from his room. Heeading for the deck, Volke passed his comrades' rooms. As he walked by he pondered which one of the three could possibly be traitors. Finally onto the deck. Ziekfried noticed Dorian at the helm.
"Hey Dorian."
Volke leaned himself against the railing of the ship and looked once again towards the horizon. By the look of things, Tanis wasn't much farther. As Ziekfried looked onwards, the sea aiir blew in rather gently. Soft the skin and pleasing top feel, it could relax just about anyone. Anyone that is except for Volke.
"Forgive me for being random Dorian but I need to talk to someone. What would you do if the people you thought were your allies, were actually planning your ultimate demise?"
Dorian took a moment to process the question he had been asked. Personally, he had little care for the feelings of the man before him. Hell, Dorian hadn't even learned the names of his targets let alone their personal problems. Nevertheless, Dorian came up with a reply to the man's question. "Regardless of their motives, Allies are allies. And when one is placed against a force as powerful as the Dark Gods, a man needs all the help he can possibly muster. One 'ally' is never enough." Dorian said, solemnly, looking out into the sea, able to spot the port in which he would steer the ship. "Now, if you would be so kind, please inform all of your companions that we shall be arriving in Tanis in a matter of minutes." Dorian said, gripping the ship's helm, steering the ship towards the port.
