Welcome ladies, gentleman, crews, and drivers for race 7 of the 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour at Heart of Dixi Drags at Alabama International Dragway in Steele, Alabama. Tonight is the first race of the second half of the season. Newcomer, Otto is our current points leader followed by Kevin, just two points behind.

The temps are in the mid 60’s and falling. It's been raining all day, but the weatherman says we're in a three hour hole. They've been trying to dry the track. Because of the wet track conditions this afternoon, it was agreed to seed the drivers by season points. Amazingly, they are the same first round pairings as last week. So without wasting any more time, let's go racing.

Our first pair is our point’s leader, Otto Varoom VS Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith. These two also lead off last week’s program with Otto taking the win. Otto has been very good on damp tracks this season. Let's see if history repeats itself.

Otto is driving the 425 C.I.blown Buick Nailhead, Alky powered "what The----Altered".

Speed is driving the 310 Cu. In. Aluminum Small Block "Chevy" powered, "Little Feather" Junior Fuel Dragster, prepared by last year’s champions, Historic Racing Associates.

The drivers warm their tires and stage. Otto thunders away with a .9 second lead. Speed cuts a perfect light and gets the rail hooked up and the little Chevy is screaming. He catches Otto in time for the win. This week, Speed is going to Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Our next pair are the winner of Race #4, Kevin Sassman VS Barry Kuta.

Kevin driving his Dodge Red Ram hemi powered Fiat Topolino prepped by the Uncle Verde race team and sponsored by Hellion Speed Equipment.

Barry is driving the SVO Mustang II Trubo powered by 2,300cc's. Prepped by DIRT and sponsored by the Durango BBQ and grill and Jameson Irish Whiskey.

The drivers do their burnouts and they both stage. Barry thunders away. Kevin grabs a little air and charges after Barry. Kevin catches him for the win. Kevin is going into Round 2.

Our final pair in Round 1 is the winner of Race #1 Dirttrack Dave VS the reining 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour champion L. Edward "ET" Foot.

Dave will be driving his 1972 Nova SS-Pro stock/superstock powered by a 454 big block for DTD Motorsports and sponsored by Valvoline Oil, called Old Poo.

"ET" is driving the 392 Cu. In. Dodge Hemi powered "Tin Box" B/Fuel Competition Coupe, also for the Historic Racing Associates.

The drivers warm their tires and stage. Dave roars away. ET hits a perfect light and passes the Old Poo for the win. ET will go to the second round.

That concludes an exciting Round 1. After a short break, please come back and see if the semi-final round is more of the same.

Has a checkered past.

Welcome ladies, gentleman, crews, and drivers for Round 2 of the 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour at Heart of Dixi Drags at Alabama International Dragway in Steele, Alabama. The rain is still holding and it, in the low 60s. So let’s start Round 2.

We're going to start this round with a single car pass by Kevin driving his Dodge Red Ram hemi powered Fiat Topolino.

Kevin preps his tires and stages. He's off on a clean pass. Kevin will move into the semi-final round.

up next is a Historic Racing Associates runoffs between Speed driving his "Little Feather" Junior Fuel Dragster and ET driving his "Tin Box" B/Fuel Competition Coupe.

Both drivers warm their tires and stage. Et cuts a near perfect light, and thunders away. Speed charges after him, but to no avail. ET will move into the final round.

That ends our semi-final round. We will take our mandatory break and return for our exiting final round.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Congrats ET, nice job on the win. Couldn't peddle the Topilino fast enough to catch you, but we are happy with another runner up spot. Tied again in the points with Otto.
