Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages, crews, and drivers to 6th race of the SNRA 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the Gulfport Catfish Nationals at Gulfport Dragway in Gulfport, Mississippi. After several cold and wet events, it has been a fabulous week here in Gulfport. Temps are currently in the seventy's, clear sky, sun's shining, and it's dry. Perfect racing weather.

This is the last event of the first half of the season. Weve had four different winners in the first five events. Its been a close fought battle with Otto. Kevin. Dave, and Speed, with just 3 points separating the top four. The good news is that at this point, no one has been mathematically eliminated from winning the season championship.

Now it's time to start racing. Tonight's first pairing is first seed, and winner of Race #3 Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith VS our current points leader and winner of two events Otto Varoom.

Speed is driving the 310 Cu. In. Aluminum Small Block "Chevy" powered, "Little Feather" Junior Fuel Dragster, prepared by last years champions, Historic Racing Associates.

Otto is driving the 425 C.I.blown Buick Nailhead, Alky powered "what The----Altered".

Posted Image

As the smoke clears, the drivers stage. Otto has a 1.7 second advantage and thunders off. Speed charges after him, but loses traction. Otto will be moving into Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Our next pair are the winner of Race #4 and current co-point leader, Kevin Sassman VS Barry Kuta.

Kevin driving his Dodge Red Ram hemi powered Fiat Topolino prepped by the Uncle Verde race team and sponsored by Hellion Speed Equipment.

Posted Image

Barry is driving the SVO Mustang II Trubo powered by 2,300cc's. Prepped by DIRT and sponsored by the Durango BBQ and grill and Jameson Irish Whiskey.

Posted Image

As the smoke clears, the drivers stage. Barry roars off with a 2.5 second lead. Kevin charges after him. The Fiat is really hooked up and catches the Mustang in time. Kevin is going to Round 2.

Our last pair of round one are the reining 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour champion L. Edward "ET" Foot VS the winner of Race #1 Dirttrack Dave.

"ET" is driving the 392 Cu. In. Dodge Hemi powered "Tin Box" B/Fuel Competition Coupe, also for the Historic Racing Associates.

Posted Image

Dave will be driving his 1972 Nova SS-Pro stock/superstock powered by a 454 big block for DTD Motorsports and sponsored by Valvoline Oil.

Posted Image

Both drivers warmed their tires and stage. Dave roars off with a 2.7 second lead. "ET" stumbles and is uncharacteristically slow off the light, and can not catch the Nova. Dave is our final driver moving into Round 2.

That concludes our first round for tonight. Well take our mandatory break and return as soon as possible for round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages, crews, and drivers to round #2 of the SNRA 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the Gulfport Catfish Nationals at Gulfport Dragway in Gulfport, Mississippi. Its a beautiful, but windy, evening. The temps are in the low 70s and falling.

We'll start off Round 2 with a single car pass by Otto. Otto is driving "what The----Altered".

Otto warms his tires and stages. He's off and it's a clean run. Otto will be back in the final round.

This brings up our final pair in Round 2, Kevin VS Dave. Kevin is driving the Hellion and Dave is in the Old Poo.

As the smoke clears, the drivers stage. Dave roars off with a 3.3 second lead. Kevin charges after him. The Fiat is really hooked up and catches the Nova in time. Kevin is in the final.

That concludes Round 2. After a short break, we will return for the final round.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.
