Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages crews, and drivers to 4th round of the SNRA 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the Alamo Runoffs at San Antonio Raceway in Marion, Texas. One of the major story's this week has been the weather. It's been raining on and off all day. We're in a hole right now. Let's hope it holds. Temps are in the mid 60's all night, after hitting the high 70's this afternoon.

Kevin Sassman is today's fast qualifier, narrowly beating "ET" by 0.002 seconds, after Speed had traction problems on the semi wet track.

So let's not waste this dry period and go racing. Our first pair is tonight's two fastest qualifiers, Kevin Sassman VS the reining 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour champion L. Edward "ET" Foot.

Kevin driving his Dodge Red Ram hemi powered Fiat Topolino prepped by the Uncle Verde race team and sponsored by Hellion Speed Equipment.

"ET" is driving the 392 Cu. In. Dodge Hemi powered "Tin Box" B/Fuel Competition Coupe for the Historic Racing Associates.

Posted Image

Both drivers do massive burn outs and stage. "ET" roars away with a 0.002 second advantage and getting a little wheel hop. Kevin gingerly feeds power to the Hemi and charges after him. Kevin wins by 0.002 seconds and is the first to move into Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Up next are DTD Motorsports team mates Otto Varoom, winner of Race #2 VS the winner of Race #1, Dirttrack Dave.

Otto is driving the 425 C.I.blown Buick Nailhead, Alky powered "what The----Altered".

Dave will be driving his 1972 Nova SS-Pro stock/superstock powered by a 454 big block for DTD Motorsports and sponsored by Valvoline Oil.

The drivers do their burn outs and stage. Dave thunders off with a 2.5 second lead. Otto waits and charges after him. Oh no! Otto red lights and Dave will move into the semi-final round.

Our last pairing in Round 1 is the winner of Race #3, Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith VS Barry Kuta.

Speed is driving the 310 Cu. In. Aluminum Small Block "Chevy" powered, "Little Feather" Junior Fuel Dragster, prepared by last years champions, Historic Racing Associates.

Barry is driving the SVO Mustang II Trubo powered by 2,300cc's. Prepped by DIRT and sponsored by the Durango BBQ and grill and Jameson Irish Whiskey.

The drivers warm their tires and stage. Barry thunders away with a 2.55 second advantage. Speed waits for what seems like forever. He then charges after Barry. Speed reels him in and is able to beat him by a nose. Speed will be in Round 2.

That concludes Round 1 of the Alamo Runoffs. There is plenty of exciting racing coming up, so please stick around for semi-final round.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Welcome back ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages crews, and drivers to race #4 of the SNRA 2017 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the Alamo Runoffs at San Antonio Raceway, in Marion, Texas. The sky is overcast, but the rains have stopped. It's a very humid 50 degrees.

It's time to get the semi-final round underway. Our first run of this round will be a single car pass by Kevin in the Fiat Topolino, Hellion.

Kevin takes a pass of 8.33 for an uneventful pass and will move into the final round.

Our last pair in the semi-final round is Dave in the Nova VS Speed in the "little feather" rail.

The drivers really heat their tires and stage. Dave takes off with a 3.4 second head start. Speed waits and waits. He then charges after him an is able to nip him at the lights. Speed is going into the final round.

Please come back after our break for the final round of the Alamo Runoffs.

We have been very lucky tonight and the rain is still holding. We have an exciting final round coming up. So let's go racing.

Our final round consists of Kevin Sassman VS Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith.

Kevin, who is looking for his first win this year, is driving his Dodge Red Ram hemi powered Fiat Topolino prepped by the Uncle Verde race team and sponsored by Hellion Speed Equipment.

Speed, who won last week, is driving the 310 Cu. In. Aluminum Small Block "Chevy" powered, "Little Feather" Junior Fuel Dragster, prepared by last years champions, Historic Racing Associates.

Both drivers do massive burn outs, trying to heat their tires. They gingerly stage. Kevin lifts the front tires and roars off with a 0.3 second lead. Speed gets a little more air under the "little feather" and is not able to catch the Hellion in time. Kevin is tonight's champion.

Will you all join me in congratulating the 2017 Alamo Runoffs Champion, Kevin. fbr

That concludes tonight's program. I hope all y'all will join us next week at the Bayou Nationals - State Capital Dragway, Erwinville, Louisiana on March 11th.
