The Uncle Verde Race team is fielding a second entry this year. We've dusted off
the old Red Comet and have her tuned up and ready to go.
#56, 1961 Mercury Comet with a 390 power plant.
Sponsored by the Warf bar.
Now our driver may be a bit rusty, my good buddy Chuck Buel has agreed to
take the wheel this season. Chuck hasn't driven a race in 24 years, and that
was in the Hobby Stock class at the Stuart Speedway in Iowa. He drove a 4 door 66
Plymouth in his only season, so we hope he gets back up to speed in a timely
fashion. And keep the Comet in one piece.

Good Luck Homer, you got more nerve than a Kamikaze Pilot.

OK Guys, due to my (lefty) FAILURE to complete Carl's ride on time, I had to go out back and dig a ride out of the barn. This car is BEFORE I met up with big E.R. or the Brennecke Brothers. GHR was then known as Warpath Chassis Co. located in Uniontown Ark. Population 82. The car got a complete restoration some years ago so the stickers on the fenders will not be period correct. We are modelers so shucks, guys, use your imagination.
Posted Image

Car: 1965 Ford Fairlane built by GHR. (Thats Go Hard Racing to you Noob's)
Engine:1964 Ford 427 on loan from Horace Cudahy.
Driver: Carl Brennecke
Crew: Me, Lefty, Mike Whittmann, Robert Woll, Sefton Rasner,Eugene Schmidt and Heinrich "Hank" Hillgenbecker. As always we will have help from all the Brennecke Girls.
Sponsor: Sponsor is still Big E.R. but we will not be carrying his graphics. We will give the past sponsors a free plug. We plan to use Horace Cudhay a lot also as he is our local Ford Brain and parts supplier. The "Deere" dealer has been sold several times since the car was built but the owner today is---yep, you guessed it, Big E.R. himself. We might not be hawking milk this time but we are helping his empire a little.

That was always a pleasure of a kit to add stuff to, you did a great job here Lefty, and thanks for adding an entry with E.R.'s blessing as far as he knows! r:r

Given the color though, I don't think I will stand against it while eating peanuts or counting to thirteen.

Thanks again. Dave B.

Track is open for hot laps now. Don't run in the lake. I'll see you soon.
