HI gang, looking for interest for a 50 or 100 lap event, that will run ANYTHING with a wing, any class open or closed wheel.what do you think about:
surface(s)-choice of track-#of laps-and when should it be held?and any other
ideas. .?.

....I wouldn't worry too much about the surface...my biggest(and only) win to date came at the I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Mo. last year with the SNRA on an asphalt track with a Hobby Stock/Sportsman dirt car.
If your up to it and its not too much for you why not 2 races, one on dirt and one on asphalt to open the possibilities up even more.
The number of laps is up to the promoter....I will have to put in a bigger fuel cell for a 100 lapper...
You had mentioned earlier in another post about starting the 6 cylinders up front and v-8's in the rear which I am o.k with ...this should make determining the starting positions some what easier I would think.
As far as which tracks, ask those participating about some tracks that they are familiar with in the 1:1 world...surface type, length, banked, flat etc. etc. or you could just make up a fictional track and go with that as well.
As far as when it should be held....
There are a few of us doing the truck group build ...it ends here in a few weeks :o it doesn't look like I will have my build done by the finish time...my bad. I say sometime after the SNRA wraps up its series, but keep in mind that there might be some cars that will need to be built or simply reworked....I have a Late Model that's 85% ready to go that I will re-work.
Keep in mind that some might have to source a wing or scratch build one which will take some time....I have the 4 main pieces of a Monogram sprint car wing but none of the mounting tubes/rods so I will have to scratch build what I need to make it work.
ON THE WORK BENCH....

Hi Dirttrack Dave,
My understanding Dave, is ANYTHING with a wing on it is eligible as long as it is an oval track racer, and you wanted one dirt and one asphalt race and that you want guys and gals to have a little build time, though they can run existing cars of any type. A wing can even be dry mounted for photograph purposes, nothing special, just a rectangular piece of plastic could be put there?

Just my suggestions, it is up to you, but why not go for something near the Holidays or we have even had Great Pumpkin, Turkey Trot specials and New Years specials, all fair game for you. As you said you were looking for mile tracks, why not Phoenix for the paved and Sacramento for the dirt? Otherwise, unless you need me, my lips are sealed sealed_5_c.gif and you have a green light. You can PM me for questions as how we pick positions, etc. too as you like, whatever you need. SNRA late models 9th season, 2017, will be May through August or early September, Don does the drags from sometime in January to beginning of May. You can always run on a Sunday for instance too, as all the SNRA series races are on Saturday night. Pick what, where and when and go for it, I can pin your entry area for you so it stays at the top.

Good luck.
