Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages, crews, and drivers to 12th and final round of the 2016 SNRA Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the Sunshine Nationals at New Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Florida. We've finally had a pleasant week, weather wise. The temps are in the high 70ís.

Tonight is the final event for 2016. Weíve had eight different winners in the first eleven events. Itís been a close fought battle with "ET" usually holding a small lead. His lead has grown to a season high of 8 points over Rick with wisdonm dropping to third. Those three drivers are the only ones still with a mathematical chance of being the 2015 SNRA Southern Fryed Drag Tour champion.

So let's go racing and see who it will be. Our first pair are the winner of Race #5 and Race #10, Rick, driving a 383 c.i. Hilborn injected small block Chevy powered 1941 Willys pick-up, called Li'l Nasty. for the Johnson Racing and Whoopee Parlor team.

VS

Last week's winner, Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith driving his beautiful blown Hemi powered "Terrible Toppolino" Fiat Fuel Coupe for the Historic Racing Associates team.

Posted Image

The divers do their burnouts and stage. Rick roars off with a 1.9 second lead. Speed charges off after him. Rick is having traction problems and is unable to hold off Speed. Speed will move into Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Great to see Ruth at the head of the class in the final race of the season. Such a cool car to see each weekend fighting it out. Also nice that Speed made it to the finals at last. And of course our man Ed Foot taking the honors for 2016. It was touch and go there in the mid season but he made it. Thanks to all the entrants for making it a tough series and all the more gratifying for it.
Keep on buildin'

Way to go Ruth!!!!! wnw :))) Another first round loss for me. I feel like I let my car owner Wisdonm and my hard working young crew chief down. Sure was fun for a couple of races there.
Course, with racing this good, it wasn't so bad to climb on top of the hauler and just watch and eat chicken and brats!
