Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages, crews, and drivers to Race #11 of the SNRA 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the For the Fans Classic at Yellow River Dragstrip in Covington, Georgia, the most infamous dragstrip of them all.

It has been a wonderful week, weather wise, being in the mid 80's. That is until today. It is still in the 80's, but it started raing this morning and has steadily gotten worse. Washing out qualifying this afternoon. We do have a small dry window at the moment. We're going to try and get the race in, since it's supposed to rain for the next three days. We will pair by points, since qualifying was rained out.

The lead for the 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour championship has been very close all season, with "ET" usually in first. Only two drivers have been mathematically eliminated with only 2 more races to go.

The track is slightly damp, but let's not waste this hole in the rain. So let's bring out our first pair, Winner of Races #1, #2 and #8, L. Edward "ET" Foot, driving the gorgeous front engined dragster Dynamic Performance Special for the Historic Racing Associates team VS Bobby Bledsoe driving a blown 417 CI Olds in a 1932 Sedan Altered for Bledsoe Sanitation and Landfill.

Both drivers warm their tires and gingerly stage. Bobby roars away with a .6 second advantage. "ET" charges after him and catches him in time. "ET" will advance into Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Stand on it....brakes only slow yoou down.

Coming up next are the winner of Race #5 and Race #10, Rick, driving a 383 c.i. Hilborn injected small block Chevy powered 1941 Willys pick-up for the Johnson Racing and Whoopee Parlor team VS Ruth Truth driving her Potvin-blown, 300CID powered '32 Bantam Altered.

They both do their burnouts and stage. Ruth takes off with a .9 second lead. Rick, showing his winning ways, chases her down for the win. Rick will be in Round 2.

Up next is the winner of Race #7, Kevin "IAracefan" Sassman, driving his 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Funny Car for the Uncle Verde racing team VS Emily Cudahy, winner of Race #6, driving an ex-Landy Automotive Research, 440 powered, 1968 Dodge Dart GTS for her grandmother Agnus Cudahy.

After prepping their tires, they both stage. Emily takes off with a 2.6 second lead. Kevin waits patiently and hits a perfect light. He is able to catch Emily in time. Kevin will move into Round 2.

Has a checkered past.

Our next pair are two of the season's most unlucky drivers, wisdom, the SFDT 2013 champion, driving his Ferrari F-40 BIPOLAR. This car has a massive twin turboed 820 cubic inch Ford hem VS Paul D. "Speed Merchant" Smith driving his beautiful blown Hemi powered "Terrible Toppolino" Fiat Fuel Coupe for the Historic Racing Associates team.

Both drivers do massive burnouts. Speeds thunders away with a 1.5 second head start. Wisdonm charges after him, but looses traction and has to back off. Speed wins and will move into Round 2.

Our final pair in Round 1 will be the winner of Races #4 and #9, Big Red Kelley, driving his blow Hemi rail for Kelley Motorsports VS Dave "Chargin Charlie" Bayer, winner of Race #3, driving the twin blown Olds powered, four wheel driven Corvair called Unsafe At Any Speed, for the AMB team.

The drivers do their burnouts and stage. Dave spins all four tires and roars off with .5 seconds in hand. Big Red hangs the hoops and charges after him. At the half-way point Dave slows down. It appears that the rear engine has stopped running. Big Red goes by for the win. Big Red will be the last to move into Round 2.

That concludes round one. Come back after our short break, for more exciting action.

Has a checkered past.

Welcome ladies, gentlemen, kids of all ages, crews, and drivers to Race #11 of the SNRA 2016 Southern Fryed Drag Tour here at the For the Fans Classic at Yellow River Dragstrip in Covington, Georgia.

After that exciting round 1, which surprisingly favored the higher powered car, we can't wait to see the round 2 action. The rain is holding so let's go racing.

Our first driver of Round 2 is our points leader "ET". He will be making a single car pass.

"ET" warms his tires and stages. "ET" charges off and makes a clean pass. Doc will move on to the semi-final round.

Has a checkered past.
