Podunkville World Guardian----R.E. Porter, Sports Desk Editor, 2 April, 2016 1520 hrs.

The 2016 SNRA season is just about here and the local racers are gearing to go. GHR Enterprises has signed on a new driver for this season and is very excited about the season start. Lefty George over at GHR gave us an up-date this morning. "We have signed Carl Brennecke as our driver this year. He is the younger brother of Curt who was with us for some time. Now not to take anything away from Curt, but Carl tends to think his way around a track, not push his way like Curt would at times. Carl reminds me of a Cat. He lurks kinda un-noticed and then leaps out from nowhere." I asked Lefty what they were going to be racing this year and he said he would announce full details in a few weeks. He did give us a little information. "We are using a 1992 Olds this year that has a lot of R&D involved. We have tested and its quick and our theory seems to work. I just hope it gets through tech inspection."

Newcomer this year is former Drag Racer Delbert Hoyt Jr. He has purchased a chassis from Lefty over at GHR and is looking forward to the season and his new experience. Del tell us that GHR has loaned some of the shop workers to him for the season for a crew. They are Maurice Kornhauser, Larry Fassbinder and Jerry Mauer. Del's childhood friend "Ernie" Ernst Biermann will be his crew chief. Del states; "We picked up a small brewing company as a sponsor. Their product is OK I guess----If your only other choice is a Bud or some of that Molson Moose swill. What's important though is they help pay the bills. This whole season will be a learning process for us. I have never done circle track and the other guys have never worked together as a race team. The GHR bunch has just been great to us and they will help us out this season as much as they can." Del tells us that his car, which is a 1987 Olds, will be completed and ready to display in about a week or so. Buy your tickets race fans, this season should be a good one. R.E. Porter
Ordinarily I am insane, but I do have lucid moments where I am merely stupid.
I never TRY to hit another car. But when I do I make sure its a Prius.

I just learned from Del Hoyt Jr. that his daughter Katharina, or "Katy" as we call her will be selling T-Shirts for Del this year. For those who have never seen her--------

Yep, I gotta feeling there will be a LOT of Del Hoyt T-Shirts in the pits this season! Not bad.
