Those Logginses never give up. Canzady takes the win in the Red Racer!
Music City 200, SNRA 2015 Late Model Race #18, Fairgrounds Speedway, Nashville, Tn. .596 mile high banked paved oval, September 27, 2015
Sorry for the lateness of the results but it was the usual SNRA barn burner at historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway's high banked oval. In the noon hour Trevor Kelley, who has had terrible luck in his Laguna will brother Dylan has shone many a race, took the pole and looked good all through practice. But it wasn't to last long.

Trevor was fastest, but then bad luck struck again!
After the green flew Trevor and championship contender Dannyboy Lynch locked into a side by side dual for the first 20 laps. As Danny finally just cleared Kelly on the outside, his left rear tire blew and shredded. Slight contact with the wall ended up in a collection of 5 of the first 6 cars. Kerry Ingram took to the infield and escaped but it was a pile up involving Kelly, Lynch, Jennifer Loggins, Flyin Brian Conn and Chargin Charlie. Only Dannyboy and Charlie eventually returned to the track with repairs were completed, but many laps down, and it was continued heartbreak for Trevor and the others.
Dr. Kerry hit the infield straight and got back on the track smoothly, running faster than before if anything. He found himself behind leader Hondo Mullis after the clean up but by lap 40 he went to the front after his 5th place start. He held this until the field made mandatory pit stops on laps 101 through 110 but as things cycled through he was second behind Kevin Sassman. He again made his way to the lead in a brief battle of the two blue Novas and at one point held a half straightaway lead on the big track but his early infield trip had apparently effected his alignment enough that his right front had worn very thin and by the 180th lap the lead had begun to shrink.
Posted Image It was so close for Dr. Kerry.
Two very fast young ladies had been running great races from mid pack starting spots, Amy Girl Conn and Canzady Loggins in her red Camaro. On the 191st lap, Amy went high but Kerry was struggling to keep his Nova low and Canzady snuck underneath, took the lead and held it easily to the end. Kerry was able to hold onto his ride just enough to eek out second by inches over Amy's Capri. It had been a great and almost dominating run, with a good but not great result. For Canzady it was a great set up by dad Spud and the continual learning curve that has brought her to the point where she is easy on a car until she needs to go at the end. Bill Hytla took a fine fourth and Kevin Sassman still running well at the end completed the top 5 just ahead of Gordy Miller and Hondo. The top ten was completed by Terry Beckham Jr., Serena Hytla and Porky Henley's Kit Car.
Posted Image....and, Canzady is the winner.
Next week is a needed bye and then travelling to the other side of the world for the SNRA's annual New Zealand trip, The Gavin Evitt Memorial Kiwi 166.

....From the checkers (almost) to the wrecker for the 01x Mustang. The car did real well in the qualifying race I thought...enough for a top 3 spot I figured. I was in with a tight group of cars when Danny's tire let loose and the Mustang got K.O'd in the Right front...busted the upper "A" arm and ball joint and bent up a tie rod end....will get the parts replaced and sheet metal knocked back out before shipping the car to New Zealand.

Amy continues to impress me...her 2nd half of the season stat. averages continue to improve....in fact overall she is leading the team in a couple of key areas.

We will be packing a 45' CONEX container with both cars ,spare parts and tools over in Kansas City, Mo. for shipment by rail to the port in L.A and then by ship to New Zealand where a truck and trailer will transport it to the track....unsure how we will get the cars unloaded, but I was told by one of the track officials via e-mail "No worries, Mate, we got ya' covered"

Oh yes, I meant to mention that when the crew was packing up to leave Nashville, they found a 12 pak of 1664 Blanc in the hauler. That pretty well narrows down who the culprit is. Just so they know, the special pistons we traded them for their 351 are really for a Renault. Wir sind Sogar! r:r
