Peach State Oil 250, Labor Day Special
SNRA Race #15 Gresham Motorsports Park, Jefferson, Georgia. 1/2 Mile high banked oval

A Good Rearend is All You Need

Raindrops were dodged and sweltering humidity threatened in between but with the new quick change installed, Carl da Bugman Ross's 70 Chevelle Deluxe 6 cylinder ran cool and smooth.
With only one quick stop for a couple of gallons of fuel on a caution Carl was able to hold off a horde of very fast Logginses in their Lap 1 entries for the underdog victory. After taking the lead after the 1st round of pit stops on laps 111 through 115 it was clear sailing for the rest of the long race. Spud and J. Log were able to pull nearly alongside the veteran on a couple of occasions but simply couldn't close the door and had to drop back. Carl took the checkers about 5 car lengths ahead of Spud Loggins, with JLog Loggins third, and the girls Presley and Canzady in a near photo finish for 4th and 5th.

Posted Image A smart, and in the end, dominating win for Carl.

Wisdonm pushed his Hemi power to 6th

Even Kevin Lil Spud Loggins came home 8th on the lead lap.
Fast time was taken by the blink of an eye by Dannyboy Lynch in his Falcon over Porky Henley's kit car, but both of them succumbed to overheating problems and the point leaders a variety of maladies from mechanical to electric during the long race.

Posted Image Dannyboy turned fast time, but he and the point leaders suffered from in race problems.

Point leader Mark Desjardins led that group but with only a 13th place on the day.

Yup, you read the race report didn't you! That is EXACTLY where Terry finished at Monett. Thanks for the reminder. ..//..

....Congratulations to Carl "da Bugman" Ross on your win.... a quick 6 in a row will go...
I didn't really qualify well and did even worse in the feature....nothing wrong with the car ,just did not have what ever it was to run up towards the front. I've either been right on or very close with the asphalt set up or totally off and I guess this was one of those nights that I was totally off.

Amy is really hungry for a win...she is starting to finish better than me in the 2nd half of the season and her crew is really starting to get a handle on the set up on her car....if this keeps up I'll be going to her for advice.
