Lefty George Lefturns75 gets the concept of the SNRA very well I think, and it would be nice to get back to a fall series for 2016, which he has graciously agreed to do! fbr We are trying to decide just what to do, supermods, sprints, midgets, mini stocks, classic hobby stocks, modifieds like we've had before, skeeters, etc. Let us know your feelings.

I agree Daniel Unparalleled, Fabulous, Illustrious, Renowned, Exalted, Distinguished, Extraordinary, Unbelievable, Astonishing, Incredible, Astounding Dannyboy Lynch. I am thinking Modifieds too.

So what type of Modified is everyone getting excited about?....reason I ask is there is a lot more than the East coast offerings especially to those of us who reside West of the Mississippi who are relatively new to the modified scene that began for us in the early to mid 80's on dirt.

We still have a lot of time yet and nothing is written in stone. There have been more mention Modifieds so far and no matter what choice is made, it will be refined when the time comes to narrow it down to the true definition. What I want does not really matter, its what the majority of the guys and gals here want. Its still early so there has been no choice made and I encourage all to let us know what your wishes are.

Thanks for the vote Doc! I would like to put up a post where the members could vote on a list of choices but I don't really know how to do that. Maybe I can get with one of the moderators and get some kind of list up to vote on. Keep watching, we will get something going eventually. rlr

Let's just say "IF" it were to be modifieds for example......
Instead of a 20-24 (?) race season, have a dirt schedule and an asphalt schedule.
Maybe 10-15 races each and let those who build dirt or pavement cars, enter that series.
I'm thinking if you restrict the rules too much, it will eliminate possible teams.

Races "could" be on the same date and different folks could do the work, instead of just one guy trying to handle it all.

Yes, we could also make up a list of car types and see which gets the best response.

Only suggestions...........

...I think there is some confusion....

Over in the Town Hall section of the forums the same topic " 2016 SNRA Fall Series in the Works
What is your pleasure? " exist with the interest leaning towards stock cars of the 50's and 60's...here in the "SATURDAY NIGHT RACING ASSOCIATION" area of the forums under the topic of "Fall series next year, 2016., What is your pleasure?" the discussion appears to be largely in favor of Modifieds......either of which...50's - 60's stock cars or modifieds...I would build and participate in so long as its not biased towards dirt or asphalt.

George A.K.A Lefturns75 A.K.A Left Turn George has agreed to do the Fall 2016 series and I, in turn, have offered up my help/assistance to George in any way he needs, which he accepted.

Hopefully I am not stepping on Georges toes here......

Not to put the kibosh on any further discussion of the 2016 Fall series, but lets get the 2015 SNRA series in the record books and at least get some cars started and well on their way to being finished for the 2016 SNRA season before making the final decision on what will be the 2016 Fall series.....I figure if we can get some rules posted for what ever is chosen some time in Apr. 2016 that would give a builder 6 months to build something. Hopefully this would avoid trying to build on two series of cars at the same time.

It would appear, based on discussion with in forums, that a poll would be simple to set up according to what seems to be popular amongst discussion...perhaps towards the end of this year/ first part of next year....the difficult part will be coming up with a set of rules that will allow flexibility yet stay with in the spirit of the particular class that is chosen on.

I would say if George and myself could get some help we possibly would be able to do a separate dirt and asphalt series for the modifieds...the down side of that would be if there where only a hand ful of one or both types of cars if the car count was low.

The Modified rules would have to be pretty much all encompassing due to the variety of modifieds out there....East coast 60's- 70's- 80's etc. dirt and asphalt....I.M.C.A ,Wissota, USMTS of the past 30 years on dirt...NASCAR on Asphalt.... unless the type(s) are narrowed down as far as choices go. I would love to build an I.M.C.A modified from the mid 80's and don't mind at all racing against a Richie Evans or Will Cagle coupe from the late 60's/early 70's or a "Barefoot" Bob McCreadie modified from the 90's as built with in the spirit of the SNRA rules so long as the rules would permit.

OK Guys, lets all just calm down some, sit back and have a cup of coffee. There have been no decisions made and its too early to tell which way things are leaning. As I mentioned before, I will get with one of the Admins. and see about getting a pinned area up for voting, maybe like we do for MoM if that would be possible. As far as rules go, no matter what choice is made, they will be written in a way that available kits could be used along with scratch-building and kit bashing. We have a wide range of members with a wide range of skills. Some can scratch build anything and some do well just to get a model done out of the box. My intention is to do this in such a way that EVERYONE has the chance to enter a car. Out of the box, kit bashed or totally scratch built will not make any difference how you finish. The idea is to show your work, learn from other builders, help other builders that want it, poke each other in the ribs a little and have a good time. Not everyone has the ability or funds to build a Nascar or Wheelen style modified. Nor the parts, skill or time to scratch build an IMCA Mod. Not everyone can come up with a current style late model. Face it guys, it needs to be based off what your average kit builder can get his hands on with whats left in his wallet. Not everyone here can afford to aftermarket an entire build. If you can then I say go ahead, we would all like to see it but you don't have to do so to enter. You have to remember, these are MODELS and don't really take to the track. How we finish is left to the luck of the draw. I would also suggest that any suggestions you might have, post them in the original post announcing the series by Chargin Dave. That will help keep everything in one section and the same subject not spread around in the forum in different posts. It might be wise for the Admins. to lock this thread so all suggestions go to the correct post? Just a thought.

Lefty George,
I'm not sure if I'm quite adept enough to set up a poll, but Jamie (resin daddy) who is the head man here can do that for you. :))) You could just take what has been requested so far and let everyone vote on it, we started this quite early, and everyone, don't forget to make your recommendations to Don for the drag series. .z.

Now, I can say from experience, modifieds have been very popular, we reached around 40 cars one year. That was however, with all types of modifieds allowed, Nascar Whelen and classic 70's, East coast dirt old and new, Southern States/Wisconsin Skeeter types, Wissota/Imca and even New Zealand Super Stocks and Stockies, basically everything short of an out and out supermod. We ran both dirt and asphalt ala the Late Model series, doesn't really matter though. If you pieced that out to just one type of car especially, or maybe to just dirt or asphalt the car count would dwindle enormously I fear. The last fall series was skeeters all on dirt and it was something like 14-16 cars but the poll may help indicate whether that might happen this time, it is a different year.

Just my 2 cents worth.
