Well guess I'll be the first to put mine up. Just finished it last night... It was built to resemble an old car brought back out and put on the track. Having a few updates to meet the new rules and such....

I didn't get the chance to know who Pop was but I wanted to show respect and honor who he was!!! I didn't get the wing done before pics were taken, but just above the wiord Pop's on the wing I put a number 4 so that it reads "4 Pop's 2", along with that I need to put radiator hoses on it tonight or tomorrow and I'll post the finisnhed wing later!!!

I used a Jimmy Flintstone Model T/A body that was a kustom body by him. I opened up the side windows and wind shield area along with back window. Drilled the vent/air flow holes in the back pillars. Edmonds chassis with rear axle moved out back more. Chrome steelies up front and home made wheels in the rear. Edmonds block and heads, parts box injection set up. Sprint car headers and steering set up. Home made wing, used a Bic writing pen as the leading edge and sheet stock to fill the rest.

Here is my entry for Ron's October tribute. I think he would have liked it. Parts box car on a Tobias chassis.

So much to like on all three of these builds. The simplicity and crispness of John's build, the style and spirit of Ton's parts shown to good advantage in Carl's build, and Dr. K's explicit and imaginative tribute. Gotta love 'em all!

I'm frustrated that I'll be traveling and away from the bench for the next two months, but I'll probably have a swing at it next fall even if I finish too late for the tribute. Early Year's was among the top suppliers on my list and I always looked forward to my e-mail chats with Ron.

Dr. K., custom white decals? How were they done. Love the curved graphic theme.
Keep on buildin'

Thanks Bernard but the "Pop's" decals are part of one of Slixx's Decal sheets. Can't remember the sheet set it was part of right now...

I'm lining up some parts, but not sure if I will be able to get one on the table. With school now in session the bus is taking a bit of my time and with some cooler weather in place, all those outside jobs are really needing to be started. ;bb;
I build models because GOD allows me to and because I can't afford the real thing!!
