Ok, this has been my Nemesis I guess. (Been on going for 20 years now). I have a friend who does some awesome art work and has been trying to sell such work. But he drew up an idea years ago and wanted someone to build it in model form. I got a good start on it, then boxed it, pulled it out again, boxed it... etc. etc. etc... This build has a ton of work in it even if it doesn't look like it.
It's designed to be an open wheel fender-less rod with Momo I.D.E.A.?? wheels on it. It has a V-12 in it that was made by me. The engine is the Lincoln V-12 with the exhaust manifolds shaved off, finned heads from the 41 Ford woodie, intake scratch built and will have aluminum short stack injectors. Frame is scratch built (with 37 Ford x-brace) and will incorporate Indy car styled shocks up front (concealed inside body).
Body has been shortened 16 scale inches, chopped, back light laid down at a 40 degree angle, hood will be forward flip on a single hinge at grille bottom. Markings on yellow part of front end (Aluma Coupe parts) are where the head lights will scissor down out of the smaller frontal ones, The angled or raked back marking will be the front axle cut outs.

MY GOSH !!!

It DOES look like a ton of work in it to me I just try to put together simple kits. It is totally beyond my comprehension.

That is the most ambitious model project I have ever seen, and I applaud you for taking it on. Few that see it will ever understand what you went through to do it.

You and your friend both, are very talented and skilled.

It is fantastic.

I, for one, am really glad to see this "off again, on again" back on again. The '40 Ford is may all time favorite car! I've had a couple over the years. I like them as street rods as well as race cars. This one is something special that's for sure....

Thanks Rett, this will be a kool build when done. I know Jerry wanted it to have the MOMO styled wheels on it but I'm leaning more towards old skool Halibrands!!

Definitely old school, Most likely Halibrands would be the way to go!

This is going to be the idea behind the hood. I did this one as a practice to Tobin's 39 to get an idea of how it would look/work.... This is a 40 Sedan Delivery I did for Hopperstad Customs in Belvidere Illinois!!

rrr Amazing art work. If anyone can pull this one off I am sure it is in capable hands. Looking forward to updates. I may have twenty years left, but I will probably not remember the last eight or ten. 1hrr

Thanks Rick!!!! It's come along slowly, hopefully I can get it done sooner than 20!!!!!!

pljas, thanks for the kind words. I'm hoping it'll be a show winner when it's done. It's going to be built with that caliber in mind.....
