Just a mock up of one of my current projects. A mild custom I guess you would call it. Fun ( so far ).

Here is the finished " Tinker Toy."

The body is not painted. Used the light blue on the interior, wheels, name, and panel just behind the window, for a complementary color scheme. Added modern side mirrors, to get a larger gluing surface. Thanks to Bert Rivers for several sets of mirrors. Dual exhaust pipes out the back and the decal for the bed floor. Trimmed the decal, and applied it with the paper backing right to the bed itself. Seemed to be easier than the accepted way of applying a decal. I have been doing this on license tags for awhile, so decided to experiment with this. Hope it will not come loose. Time will tell.

Used the kit 283 CI engine, and solder tailpipes, with the mufflers hollowed out and placed directly over the wire at the normal locations.

Also cleaned up the rear at the tailgate, by adding a metal strip to hide the bumper braces.

This represents a WIP, with the owner maintaining it as a weekend driver as much as possible. He has plans later for some nice mag wheels, a metallic paint job, and maybe even some flames.

I enjoyed building it, and hope you will enjoy seeing it.

Hi John,

Nice job on the truck. You need to put trailer hitch on it and use it to pull one of great modifieds to the track.

Take care,
Skeeter
