Well, my goodness, it worked, but not by the tutorial. It's a little dirty, but maybe I can clean up the next one.

This modified meets nobody's rules. Just something I was able to accomplish.

Tobias chassis, with a few bars removed. The cowl and body to the B post are from a ' 26 Ford sedan, as well as the flat roof. B post back is just sheet plastic that I drew off and cut out. The hood is just flat plastic.

The top was molded in gold, and I left it unpainted. In the sunlight, the sun showed through, and cast a gold shadow on the inside of the left C post, which makes it look strange.

Sponsors are CMF Welding, which is an Acme Welding decal that I rearranged. West Side Garage, on the left of the hood in blue is hand lettered and the driver's name on top, "Ace" is also hand lettered.

My fabrication skills are lacking, and I got pretty sloppy with it, so I employed as many tricks as I could to fool the eye.

But, I enjoyed building it, and I think it is kinda neat. I hope you like it.

John, I like this one best of all! This one looks a lot like some of the creations that raced around here in the day. Sloppy? looks pretty darn good to me. None of the 1:1 cars were perfect and pretty don't make you fast. I have seen some pretty ugly beasts in my day that were just wicked fast---body flopping and all. I found that all the "pretty" cars ran in the back. I like this one, good job my friend! wnw
Ordinarily I am insane, but I do have lucid moments where I am merely stupid.
I never TRY to hit another car. But when I do I make sure its a Prius.

jsm Absolutely fantastic build. This is one of my favorite types of build - a little bit of kit, a lot of ingenuity, some luck and throw it all against the wall to see what sticks. You may be aging (then aren't we all) but you have not lost your touch.
Hope you have a wonderful Easter.
I build models because GOD allows me to and because I can't afford the real thing!!

Great build!!! It reminds me of a car Vince Quennville Sr. raced back in the 70's...went wicked fast!!! Up here in Vt, they used different type bodies like this one!! Really good job!! :))) Neal
