Well, with all the neat builds goin on here, I am watchin all the trucks gettin built, and said I gotta join in the fun! So, here is the start of my 41 Chevy Custom Dually - Revell's great kit, plus parts from the parts box. Gonna be runnin a big block Chevy in this one for some serious grunt. Will be addin both a fifth wheel hitch, and a Class three receiver hitch so I can hook up either type trailer for race car haulin! Trailer to follow when I start on it. Building some "dually style" fenders using the originals from the 41 Chevy Kit - progress so far:

That is a cool project! Really like how you are using the old fenders to make the new ones. Can't wait to see more!

Ok, for yall wondering what about the "big block" power, here is a picture for ya - headers had to come on the outside of the frame, but it's lookin gasser style, four speed and a dominator intake - 'course the big ol' rat motor has been detuned a little bit so it's drivable and it gets decent milage while pullin a trailer......hopefully!

Tight squeeze but doable:

NEVER would have thought about dropping a V-8 in it....would have just been happy to builld it out of the box....but other issues intervened....
This is looking FANSTASTIC!!!!!!

one question where did you get the tires/wheels?

Thanks Ed and Kevin! Yes Ed, that IS the kit that you sent me! My brother ALMOST bought a 46 Chevy pickup that had the some conversion done to it, so that is where I got the idea. His had a 396 Corvette engine in it, and single super wide Mickey Thompson's out back, but very similar. Ed, those wheels and tires came from the Revell 77 GMC Tow truck.....here are some shots of the ALMOST finished Sooper Dooley!
