This is cool stuff to look back on this my friends is what real racing is all about .They built their cars from scratch and raced them sometimes three and four nights a week. On the West Coast my uncle started on motorcycles then went to roadsters until 1950 then Jalopy's which became Hardtops his name is Joe Giusti and his son still has a great website Turn 4 with lots of pictures. Joe later drove super modified and sprint cars in 1960 he won the Gold Cup at West Capitol Speedway. I give a lot of credit to these guys all across the country and think they would definitely give these Nascar drivers a run for their money.

Brilliant!!! I need to dig through the archives much more than I have up to now. When you guys tell me I can pretty much do anything that looks right when building this style of race car pictures like this help me understand what you mean. Once you understand the "vibe" then you can respect what these racers did and how wide open it all was, ... and is, yes?
Keep on buildin'
