Figured I'd share a couple of my latest builds, starting with this one.
Buck Simmons was one of my favorite all time drivers, so I'm planning on building a few of the cars he ran on his way to winning 1024 feature races.

This is the Jig-A-Lo Camaro owned by Billy Thomas that Buck drove in the late 70s. He won a bunch of races in this car, including the very last car race ever held at the Lakewood Speedway in Atlanta.
I used one of Gator's Camaro bodies, mounted on a modified AMT Nascar chassis. I couldn't find any Camaro kit bumpers anywhere, so I made my own. I also design my own decals.

Nice replica build. Got to see Buck race here in Paducah, Ky. back in the NDRA days in that car or one very similar.

Thanks, y'all. Tom, the nose is part of the body. after I painted the black, I masked off the nose and sprayed it with dullcote.

The Jig-A-Lo changed late model racing as we know it. After Charlie Hughes, Doug Kenimer and Ken Walton won 3 successive World 100's in those frames, the game was changed. You've done a terrific job on this recreation and it just looks great! - dkb

Doug Kenimer.........Now there was a racer to contend with. I remember seeing him run as a kid. Very rarely had anyone at the race with him.Back when we were racing LM at Athens speedway, I can remember him coming into the pits with a single axel trailor with a `55 chevy on it , being towed by a `56 Ford pick up. Unload the car , race , & load it back up and go. I can`t ever remember seeing him bring anyone with him. Real laid back guy, but for some reason he would always talk to me. Could have been just to shut me up as I had a million questions when I was 11 years old. :)))
