THis is a scratchbuilt project that is inspired by the Nascar's Whelen Modified series. I am not replicating to the last detail but trying to make a good reproduction of these cars.

First I cut a Jada Shelby body to this:

I fabricated the frame using styrene rods and scale 2x4:

The front and rear suspensions were also scratchbuilted using different part found in the part box and some fabricated ones.

Since I'm late posting (fiddling with Windows 8 :P )

I did some progress on it. I made my own decals. A wrap design and some lettering:

I used some pics I found on Google and cut it and sized em to fit the body. Actually the checkplate deisgn is 4 copies ona part of one image that I weld together in Phohoshop. The other are also ares of images that I selected, copied and pasted in a new file.
I then, imported all the files in a sign software and placed them so I could print on a decal sheet.
I created the name and numbers with the same software.

The same could be done in an old version of Corel Draw or Illustrator. I'm not good in ''Paint'' but I think you could do that in it except for the selection work that as to be done in Photoshop. Gimp is a free software that does about the same as Photoshop do.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply on the graphics.
That department is really limiting me on which builds I want/can do.

Well I did win the special race car class award. That category is for the best stock car of any kind.

It is my third time in 4 years that I win this award. Makes me a real fan of oval track racing
