Here's a new project, I've started. it will be an offset roadster/ sprint car like what was legal back in the late 70s, in USAC. It is 1/8 scale and I'm laying up the fiberglass body today. I thought you race fans would enjoy this. I've always been intrigued with the offset cars.Posted Image

Thanks guys. I scratch built the motors out of sheet plastic, aluminum sheet and tubing. This is the second one I've built so I think you get a little better each time you build something. The next one will definitely have more detail. I'm laying up the body, with fiberglass today, so I'll post pictures when it's done. It's important to have an element of " Bad A--" in the style of body you choose for a race car. This one combines a slingshot dragster with a gladiator helmet and a traditional sprint car tail. Wild, huh?

Posted Image I've got the body glassed and now comes the fitting everything. I made the nose like an old Watson roadster. This thing is part old Indy car, part silver crown car and part gladiator. It will be Black and Orange, no.#7 and sponsored by Jack Daniels. :(

The one offset that I remember racing in USAC was the Jet Enginering Special that Steve Chassey drove. Saw it race at Winchester on more than one occasion. That was a beautiful race car. You are one talented builder, Old Sprinter!

Both are awesome projects. But, I'd like to see you flesh out the other unfinished one, as it reminds me of one of Tod Gibson's Oswego supermodified winners. It really looks good... please finish it as a supermodified.
