While waiting for Mr Humidity to take a few days off so I can get some painting done,I decided to start this one-Been on the list for over a year- time to get started! AMT 63 Studebaker Avanti. This is going to be a phantom build of a car that might have lined up for the 1966 Permatex 300 at Daytona.Rules were that the car had to be at least 3 years old,but engines were open-sooooo- this little ugly duckling came to the pond with a then new 427 Ford!![]() Kit frame and part of the interior tub with scratchbilt cage, dash, interior panels, and an aluminum hood to replace the "too weird" offset bulge stocker. ![]() FRW wheels with vintage slicks-Just getting started-Now gotta finish a few! ![]() A little weird, even more ugly, but I bet it would have been FAST! |

Not a lot.Finished the cage and working on the chassis to get enough clearance to "tuck" the tires under the wheelwells without making the openings any bigger. With work around the ole homestead to get ready for the holidays and trying to set up a new laptop for Miss Judie(my better half) progress has been slow. This week is turkey day AND the AUTORAMA all weekend. Been going to this show for over 40 years .The swap meet area always has two or three large model kit vendors,a couple of which are members of my club so going Friday to check it out. Hoping for some less humid weather so I can prime/paint several projects Dang mid 70's weather is a pain sometimes! r:r |
