A few pics:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I DO Not claim to be a Jalopy Expert. This is just my Idea of what a jalopy is all about. This will be the last time I stick my nose in this Build Off. I`ll post a couple more pics that I would like to share. |

I think we're on the same page here in Motown !!! Those proved to be some of the most exciting racing I've ever seen !!! Sure it was all alot slower, but even the wrecks seemed to happen in slow motion and were that more dramatic.

WELL MY FRIEND............you may "claim" to "not be an expert" on the JALOPY series cars, BUT......you are VERY WELL VERSED IN KNOWLEDGE about them !!!!!!!! Those pictures from the CALIFORNIA JALOPY ASSOCIATION are AWESOME !!!!!! They have a book out (that is available thru COASTAL 181 Book Store) that has pictures into the HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS, if anyone is interested, and, not all that expensive for "that quality of book" with THAT MANY PICTURES........... THANKS FOR POSTING THEM!!!!!!!!!! The "last picture" with the "fendered" 39 & 40 is cool too !!!!!!!!! That was just as the "old jalopy" cars were making their "transition" into "stock-cars" on the west coast. And, "technically", there actually were a FEW tracks that called those "stock-cars" that ran fenders, as "jalopies".............. And RON, you are MORE THAN WELCOME to "add" ALL YOU WANT TO, to this thread..........IT'S GREAT to have you as "one of our resident exp.....er.....let's see.....you didn't wanna be called an expert........so.......resident VERY KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED REFERENCE PERSONS" !!!!!!!!!!!!! r2d2 r2d2 r2d2 It is just WAY COOL, to see in these pictures that RON posted, the "early technology" of the builds !!!!!!!!!!! (You may notice, that the "roll-bars" and "bracing" DID NOT have a bunch of fancy "notching" or "fitting"......) Even tho they may not have been the "safest" old cars, those old Jalopies were FUN TO WATCH !!!!!!!!!!! 12r 12r rlr DJ |
