 I'm not sure if this is a WIP or it's done. Being that It's going to be presented to Phil's in a display case with a picture of jalopies racing at Motor City Speedway from the early 50's as a backdrop.............. I just can'y decide !!!!!
What Ya'll think ?????

TOM..............I wasn't "ignoring you", I just noticed that you'd "asked a question" in this thread.............

Where I "came up with this" is from the PARTS BOXES............some "conversion", some "fabrication"........... 3rr 3rr

I've been DIGGING THRU BOX AFTER BOX of "stuff", trying to make sure that I have some "period correct" stuff for this car, and, have FINALLY found most everything I was "digging for".............

Old "truck style" radiator, old "truck tires" (8.50 x 15's) with some old six-lug rims, a "Jerry-Can" for the fuel, an OLD seat from the "early days", plus the old (been around for-ever) battery boxes that they have been running FOREVER...............

Maybe NOW things will "slow down" so that I can get some time to "get back on" this one...........

........................................................................................................................

This is a lot like KEVIN had "mentioned" in one of the threads.......NO JUDGES LOOKING OVER THE TABLE, NO PRESSURE.............something that is "JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT" !!!!!!!!!!! :))) :)))

DJ

PS------and TOM, I think that the little JALOPY happens to look FANTASTIC "just the way it is".................(but, we were ALWAYS known for keeping our racecars as "presentable as possible", which included CLEANING between Hot Laps, Heat Races, and Feature Races...........) ;a; ;a; rr21

I decided to "do this one" the way that RON showed us, in his "How-To" series. I even found a "starting place" in one of the old '49 Ford kits (the main loop & side parts)................... EASY & FUN !!!!!!!!!!

Looks like there are some nice builds going on. I have one started but just haven't gotten around to taking any pictures. I'll try to do that later today and post them tomorrow. By the way it is a 40 Ford C-dan.

Here's what I have done so far. Don't feel like working on it very often due to the fact that radiation has been really tough but that ends this week so should feel more like working on it in a couple weeks. The engine is set back about 6 inches and the driver has been moved back about a foot so I should be able to get some good traction. Gonna use the rear end out of the Lindbergh 34 Ford truck and front end out of the AMT 34 Ford coupe. Seat is coming from the same truck kit and the bumpers are coming from the AMT 53 Ford truck. Building it just the way they used to with whatever thy could find cheap in the junkyard.
