Went to the races tonight mainly because they had vintage cars. Fifteen of them showed up and there would have been more but they were having bad weather around St. Louis so some of them stayed home. I took over 200 pictures tonight so I have plenty of reference material. When they found out I was taking pictures to use for reference for building models several of them wanted to know if I could build a model for them. When I explained how many hours goes into building some of these models they were quite understanding about why I don't build them to sell. I am going to try to build a couple of them before the last weekend in September because they are having a three day meet here in Southeast Missouri then and are expecting at least 100 cars, I can hardly wait.

The track is in Malden , MO which is in the southeast corner of the state. Here is their website:

Here is where Malden is located:

The vintage event will be September 24, 25, 26. They are having a swap meet and racing and I'm sure there will be a lot of B.S.ing going on. They told me they already have commitments from five guys in Pennsy and several in Alabama so looks like it is going to be a pretty big deal.

Here is a link to the Gateway Vintage Racing Association.

Be sure to check out the drivers page at GVRA and you will see there were a lot of cars absent last night. They are racing about 90 miles from me next Saturday night a lot closer to St. Louis so I might try to make that, plus they will be racing sprint cars so that is a big plus for me.

I am supposed to be working nights that weekend in September but for some reason I'm already feeling ill.
