I always wanted to build this car ever since I saw it in 1960 on the big screen. The movie was made during the running of the 1959 Southern 500. There were some other scenes from other tracks that year as well.

Very cool build, and one of my all time favorite Cowboy actors too. Got to meet Rory when I was a youngun when he came to the grand opening of a local chicken restraunt. Can you imagine Tom Cruise doing something like that? Me either.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. I too can't wait to get the DVD version. The one I have was copied to my camcorder and from there to a vhs tape. Needless to say the quality is not too good.

I finally got the DVD version but I had to order it from my local Barnes and Noble store. There are some really great shots of other cars in the movie as well.

WoW, WoW, and THANKS!!!

A search for the movie that had this 57 chevy led me here and is the only way I found it. I ordered the movie last night.

Built a blue 57 myself back in about 1964 or so. I guess I need to break out my old models.
