Hi SkeeterNation,

It's been way too long between drinks!

I'll be the first to admit that I have been guilty of just looking at the hand-full of started cars and not getting much done, so I'm posting the progress of the "refurb" of the Estes modified that I built years ago. A special thanks goes out to Karl for making us some new wheels and tires. Also posting WIP of James Bradberry built '32 full-bodied sedan driven by a very young Buck Simmons.

Also, I had the opportunity to visit with Ron Royston last month...boy was I ever impressed with his builds. I left my stuff in the car and told him I forgot and left my builds (partial) at home. If you're ever down Ron's way (Royston, GA) you owe it to yourself to visit his shop.

On the same trip down to Georgia, I visited Joel Lindler (over in Leesville, SC) again after 12 years and video taped my visit and his "period correct" collection of modified coupes and sedans...another place to put on your "bucket list". By the way, Joel has a Lunsford build '32 coupe that was purchased by Doug Kenimer and a Tootle Estes driven coupe later raced by James Vaughn over in SC, two must see modifieds.

After that visit, I made my way to Toccoa, GA to visit with Jabez Jones....what a delight he is and great stories. He had me in tears with laughter.

THAT IS JUST AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!! I really LOVE getting to "hear the stories" that "go along with replica builds" !!!!!!!!!!!!! There are SO MANY "local hero" types, and to get to see (and learn about) the old cars that they "made legendary"......... that's just one of the BIGGEST THRILLS of getting back into models!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS GARY, for sharing with us !!!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ

ps------ANY MORE PICTURES (like maybe of the different modifieds)?????????

Don`t know how I missed this post. .?. Had a great visit with Gary. We talked Skeeters forever it seemed like. I need to get to Joels shop and take a look. I couldn`t talk with Jabez the afternoon I went to his son`s shop. He was out cutting Pulp-wood, and just remember this man is in his seventy`s. There are still a lot of old racers around in this area with Ton`s of storys to tell. Just have to get out and find them. Believe me......Garys models are good to. :)))

Hi Modman1st,

Yes, there are more parts to be added. These are work in process (WIP) and are yet to be finished.
