I stayed up late Thursday night, in spite of getting a bad cold, not a good idea, but good results I think, to do most of the engine compartment detailing. I still have a few things to do yet, but pretty happy overall, well, really happy overall. And DJ, you'll be happy, we did find a different Comp. Series AFB to put on it, like driving a fuel injected car and kept the performance! :))) :))) It just says Edelbrock on it now. 3rr r:r

There were my three best pals right on it. Thanks guys. The engine took me about 8 hours so far, not perfect I know, but then I really didn't dissasemble too much except for taking off a few hoses, air cleaner, wiring harnesses etc. I left the carb, valve covers and all on and I just sanded, masked carefully, did a little rewiring and soldering here and there to uncross, strengthen and clean up things, put the new Accel Super stock wires into their proper loom locations etc. It made me FEEL a lot better in terms of peace of mind, as well as the immediate huge difference in appearance it made. But the body and interior, that's just how she was, I just cleaned and cleaned and polished. :))) :))) :)))
Will keep you all posted as work continues but there really isn't much now.
Thanks to all of you again.
I'm running Shell Rotella 10 30 in it too along with super premium with lead additive and octane boost. Any additional suggestions or words of caution would be appreciated. Nothing leaks, the torqueflite seems to be smooth and positive, there is no stumble or hesitation and absolutely no valve noise, ping or predetonation at this point. Exhaust is a two into one into two with dual turbo flows and no resonators or cats of course. Hoses plugs and belts were all changed, we have all new fram filters, a new thermostat and radiator cap, accell super coil and new distributor and points, thank god there is no servo unit, and the air conditioning works!~!!!!

She sure is a beauty Dave. That engine compartment looks great too! Don't go racing any camaros or stangs, you wouldn't want to hurt their feelings by dusting them off with The Honey Bee Tank ! r:r
