Here is a a 40 ford that i turned into a dirt track racer,being pulled by a 60 chevy pick-up.

Good looking team. I used to ride to the races in a pickup towing a 48 Ford Coupe with a towbar when I was around 4 or 5 so this really brought back some memories.

the guy who owned the jalopy, a 40 Ford coupe) that I was alowed to drive was a farmer who loved racing, he was a cripple and couldn't drive a race car however he could drive a tractor like a demon,
he used his hay wagon to haul the car to the track for me to drive
I was young and small and Joe Rasburn was a pretty good fabricator and had fashoned a curved accelator rod and clutch and brake rods that allowed me to use the gas pedal clutch and brake. he had also modified the seat so that I could see (Just barely) out of the windsheld opening.

That race team looks just like the teams did in the late 50's/early 60's here in Vt.!!! Thanks for sharing!! Great job!!! fbr Great story that was added about the farmer too!! Neal
