Well guys, yesterday I was eating birthday cake and just lounging around. Today it's back to the old grindstone. As some of you know, I got back into modeling in 1982, specifically to do a diorama of the Danbury Racearena. Well I guess I've put it off long enough and finally started. I am doing an 11 car pileup that took place on the front stretch on Aug.11, 1962. I have 3 photos of the wreck, which according to the newspaper account was the largest up to that point. I also have photos of all the cars from other races ,so my research is pretty complete. This is the first car to get to a presentable stage. I still need to do some more work on it but will do the final detail work on all the cars at the same time. It's a 34 Ford 5 window owned and driven by Billy Bottge. You can see that it was fairly plain, the cut out of the rear window being the most noticeable alteration as well as the 37 Ford hood to a lesser degree. It is pretty much ERC pieces with the exception of the engine which is from one of the 37 Ford PU kits, along with some of Norm Webber's really fantastic detailing items. I especially like his fuel pump. Any way, I will be posting more in the future - near future I hope. KarlPosted Image
