Speedster: Did you see my questions about Bob McCready? and Kasie Chambers? I'm not sure now where I posted them?! If you didn't see 'em, I'll explain...Also: What did the early years look like in Austrailia? Did you have the same evolution of race cars as we did? I think cream color/red will look great!! Thanks, Neal

Love your roadster Paul! My dad raced track roadsters here in Southern California in the 1940s.
Whose body is that?

The Offy sure looks big. I think I recognize the Kurtis Indy car source for that. A buddy of mine was putting a Rootes Blower on an Offy, I've worked on Offys with Winfield carbs and with Hilborn injectors. But I've never seen sidedraft Webers or Dells on one. Looks like they belong there. What is the source for those carbs?

And I love the early pics too!

Paul...
Are you planning to open the valley between the cam covers?

Or get rid of that lump across the front and replace it with cam bore covers?

Ahhh Ronnie, tha Monogram Offy is incorrect. I've never seen an Offy with a cover between the cam covers. Wouldn't be a good idea to have nuts and bolts going through the cam covers to hold that sparkplug cover on. I've been looking through my Offenhauser book and haven't as yet seen one with the cover. :P

Shoulda used tha AMT Offy.... :)))

Take a little vacation and look who crawls out of tha weeds..... Karl Stark..... B)

Tha reason tha Monogram Offenhauser has that so-called cover has nothing to do with the "Real Offy engine". You have to remember that Kurtis roadster was originally started at Monogram right around 1956 and the "cover" was just to simplify the molding process. Just like the injectors, way too short, here's a coupla pics from some diecasts I have....

Smo0key Yunick's Indy Roadster...

BTW, this was the 1st use of a Wing at Indy.....

As you can see, you could reverse the intakes/exhausts and the water jackets exit from between the Cam Covers,,,,, so Speedy, yur gonna need ta do some detailing.... Oh yeah, spark plugs also between the cam covers.....
