Hi yall. Got started on my Vega last night, and now have a bunch of questions. First, I am trying to figure out how to use the wheels and tires I got from Jamie on the car. I got a set of DT01's, I believe. Been a while since I bought them. Also got a set of wheels, and hubs. Looks like the hubs just glue to the center of the wheels, right? Now, I noticed the wheels dont go all the way to the back of the tires, but that is an easy fix. Now, how do I go about connecting them to the axles? Should I just fabricate brakes for them, and go that way? And should they be discs or drums? Would these cars have mechanical or electical fuel pumps? Mechanical or electric fans? And is the fuel cell molded in the chassis OK, or should it be replaced? Thanks a bunch! |

Ok , Need to know which hubs you are using then I can help on brakes. Fan either way , unless you are building 60s-70s they need mech. fuel cell- you can cut the on out of the vega and trim the top down to the size of the bottom and remount. Fuel pump either way. Hope this helps.

OK, here is where I am now. Thanks for the help yall! - will go with mechanical fan. - if I can find a mechanical fuel pump, will add that. Otherwise, it'll have an electrical one. - think I'll go with the finned drum brakes. This would most likely be a late 70's early 80's car, not sure. - will have to take a picture of the hub. Looks kinda like I could add it to a set of drums, but not sure. It also looks like there are holes to drill out for lug nut studs. Thanks again, and I'm sure I'll have more questions! Dave |

Add the drum to a hub and you are on the way. |

OK, got another question. I see that there is a magneto in the kit. Should I use this, or go with a distributor like I had planned? And if the mag, is there a particular order the wires should come out of it? I'm not sure as I have never messed with one of those before. Thanks for your help.Dave |
