Sweet!!!

To answer Madd Mike...the Indy cars of the late 40s and into the early 50s were essentially long-wheelbase Sprint Cars similar to this. The Chevy Small Block is a late 50s addition. I have worked on restoring a late 40s Kurtis Indy car which originally ran an Offy. It was shortened into a Sprint Car when the roadsters took over at Indy. In the late 50s, it was converted to a small block Chevy and had a roll bar added. In the late 60s, it had a roll cage added. Around 1980, it was crashed so hard, the driver never got into a race car again. After sitting for about 10 years, we straightened it out, removed the cage and switched it back to an Offy.

The yellow item near the rear wheel is a dog dish...at this Indy 500 party, the dog wanted someone to pour some beer into his dish.
Another one I've worked on is a car built by Luji Lesovsky to be a Bowes Seal-Fast Indy car in the late 40s. It too was later shortened into a sprinter. Then it got its then owner and recent Indy winner Troy Ruttman banned for a time from driving in AAA (the big organisation for Indy cars, sprints and Midgets at the time) events because he had another driver (Danny Letner) race it in a non-AAA event.

This pic shows my wife and me (with mustache-no beard) and another fellow, blocking the view of the car with the Canepa Kenworth modeled by AMT.
So ...Yeah! The model IS a lot like an Indy car of the late 40s/early 50s...

If you don't crash once in a while, how do you know you're going as fast as you can?

Nice, clean, well detailed build! rrr

Which kit is that? I just asked a question on doing this to a Grant king kit. Is it possible to do a correct early sprinter from that kit?
