After some "campaigning" I finally landed this as a Christmas gift
IMEX Model Company, Inc. 1953 Ford fire engine:

Straight out of the box....
This is a very generic diecast kit, no engine, very simple markings/details...
But I like it because it is one that is not out there, thus not "competitive" with the nicely detailed Yat-Ming units (maybe someday for one of those)
Kit has different sized screws but except for two, it does not tell one which one goes where...consequently I snapped one off and now have to go chase an easy out before I can put it together.... :(

Finally finished my broken screw problem and got it together....finally....after having it stare me in the face for almost two months...

Ended up cutting the broken screw out with a small round high speed cutter that came with a battery operated moto-tool. Could not buy just one easy out and could not afford the set that had the small easy outs, especially the chances of using the easy outs for other jobs is slim and none...

Sprints??? There are sprints in the background??????
Wellllll....the green Grant King frame has been sitting like that for about a year now.....the black GK frame was deliberatel only built up this much over 30 years ago (spare frame for the race ready cars in case one got crunched during a race), but now with the new GK kits costing as much as they do, have rounded up the parts from various sources with the intent to build it up all the way.....some year....
on the far right is my original Monogram Don Edmunds supermodified literally built straight out of the box (no paint involved back in 1967/68) with a few modifications over the years, the purple car with the yellow roll cage is one of the OLD Lindberg Kustom Koffin kits built in the 1970's, then started a rework on it in the late 70's (a new engine was supposed to be installed) but never finished it, is being used to try out various tires, less the outer rims, right now it has Revell/Monogram sprint tires on the front, left rear sprint tire on the RR and LR from an AMT/MK '36 Chevy modified. Bodies in the far background are planned to be used for modifieds some year...
