You have to quote it and look in the sub-text box.

Color code dedede matches the background so I just use that. Had to experiment a bit to find it though.

See?

Oh, i didn't see anything when i quoted your post so i didn't know you wrote something.

Odd. I made the size -7, at first I had it at full size but then I realized I may give away part of the ending for those who haven't played it.

Ah. Actually the indoctrination theory makes sense, but doesn't that make the ending pointless?

Note, spoilers.

Make the ending pointless? What do you mean? It has even less closure, but I think it's a pretty nifty idea (and, frankly, makes the most sense). The whole last 20 minutes of the game are a fight against being indoctrinated, after being fried and buried under debris by a beam from Harbinger. First you have to defeat the "Illusive Man" tempting you with control of the reapers. Then, succeeding at that you speak to the reapers directly, in the form of an innocent child that Shepard failed to save. All of this is taking place inside Shepard's head while he's unconscious in the rubble of London. Fight off indoctrination further and actually do what you set off to do two games earlier (destroy the reapers) and your mind remains your own. You wake up. No closure, but an amazing concept, and one that I've grown more satisfied with as time has passed. Maybe I'm just indoctrinated, though.

Also, I've come up with more evidence to the Shepard-is-a-Jesus-metaphor theory. I've never written anything down on this though, so I'm sure I've thought of some things and later forgotten them. Here are some of the most obvious that I've caught:

- The name, obviously.
- Died and was reconstructed/raised again.
- Raising up on a glowing white platform after dealing with the Illusive Man.[/i]
- Anderson = John the Baptist?
- During his greatest trial he is wounded and bleeds from the lower abdomen. See: Longinus.
- Illusive Man offers salvation but only guarantees destruction. Antichrist?
- Reapers = the Beast. A creature that emerges from the abyss (dark space). Indoctrination, it then follows, would be worship of the Beast.

Or I could be totally wrong. Who knows? I don't really believe the above myself, its just a bunch of curious observations.

I actually looked up the theory, and I was talking out of my bum before I knew precisely what it is, so yeah, the indoctrination theory does make it better.

More in -7 print.

So if you get 100% readiness Shepard wakes up in the end? I feel kind of idiotic now as well, with the choices you make if indoctrination is correct. It also puts a new spin on the renegade option too, (red = renegade/kinda evil, vs. blue = best/good option), it being the correct one.

I obviously chose wrong...

If indoctrination is true, then did Shepard really destroy/control/merge the reapers with crucible? Or while Shepard was fighting off indoctrination your armies that you gathered beat the reapers? Was Shepard the true catalyst? I would say if indoctrination is true then why would the reapers bother with Shepard now, but the reapers were winning last time we saw them... Or were they?

At the PAX convention on the 6th of April, Bioware are due to host a conference there to discuss Ending DLC, which is now in the planning following the Retake Mass Effect movement. (Of whom I happen to be a member.)

And so it truly begins. It's going to be interesting to see what happens.

I think they are going to sell an epilogue

I wouldn't put it past EA games.

I just hope whatever happens pacifies everybody because there are some stupid arguments going on between people claiming games are art and those claiming games are product and what kind of precedent should be set. What bugs me are all the people tht say games are art and are worried about what the rest of the world thinks of yhe medium. They seem to place anythink dubbed art on a pedestal. Equally annoying are the people who are like "it's just the end of a game, stop bitching." because apparently the only thing this industry listens to is vitriolic fans. The people who spit bile about the end in unproductive ways also bother me.

^i say the above opinions as a passive witness of the whole ordeal as it seethes on the escapist website.

Well, all I can say is, if they don't improve the ending, i'm done with Bioware. Another promising company ruined by EA's mighty chequebook.

Some more closure would've been nice.

I think the fault lies more with EA games on this one instead of Bioware though.

The best closure you can hope for after being microwaved by a reaper is a quick death. -_-

Shepard is supposed to kick ass. The ending handed victory to the Reapers. Because you did their bidding.
