I recommend everyone to download Steam (if you haven't already) and buy it! (it isn't that much) Linky Or at least play the demo (Downloadable from the link) Storyline Duh - you're playing magic games! What plot is needed?! There are some nice 'snipets' of Magic's Planeswalkers and there life stories on the loading screen, with some nice artwork. But mostly, there is none. Rating - 4/10 Gameplay Solid. The game flows well, it is quite well designed with some nice unlockable decks and additionial cards for those decks. You can also alter the difficulty as you wish and you can play people online. You can play many different one player modes - Campaign (Opponants get tougher), Archenemy (You play as part the 'good guys' with two AI allies) or 'Revenge' (Campaign mode with harder decks to fight) It even has a tutorial mode for those who have never played before! However, i have few criticisms. The Decks are restrictive. Yes, you can unlock additionial cards for those decks that aid your deck, but you can't break up decks and build your own from a pool of cards. You can remove cards from those decks, but you most have at least 60 cards in them. You also can't adjust the land ratios of the decks either. The game also moves at a fair quick pace, and I was caught out a few times as things happened without me realising. I soon adjusted to hitting Spacebar to give me time to think, so all was well! Mostly, however it works well. With the limited deck choices it'll be a fairer test for the likes of Nate and Inca to compete with Yev etc. Rating = 19/20 Characters The Planeswalkers have small historical blurbs about them on the loading screen and on the 'confirm dual' related to story line. There decks also reflect their personalities, but the characters are not really that important to this game Rating = 6/10 Graphics There's some nice touches here. The Creatures hack and slash when they attack stuff, flames burn stuff and blood splatters when someone casts Go for the Throat. Things light up to highlight legal plays and stuff. Nice enough. However, I noted the occasional graphic error when the card border will go through the cards text and picture. It was still readable and the artwork was visible still, but it detracted from it slightly. Rating = 4/5 Replay value The game really shines here. The Archenemy game can swing wildly, as it is so unpredictable and the AI is quite clever. The Multiplayer internet connection aspect is the best for it. Like any magic game, no two duels are ever the same... Rating = 5/5 Final Score = 38/50 Fun City (B+) Verdict A must for any magic fan. Will keep amused you for hours. Even if you've never played magic it can teach you play and the version without the limited edition card is only £6.99! It should be noted that the game was mostly dragged down on the Storyline and Characters ratings. If it wasn't for those segments, this game would be an A rated game |

Hmm... That may be cheaper than buying the equivalent in cards. |

If I can make my deck that I have right now in it, I may be tempted. |
