If he got a PS3 his router would hate him on principle.

The last time your brain stem seriously considered the relative merits of the various gaming systems?

back then the PS3 did not exist. and was a 500 dollar turd when it did come out with about 3 games for it's library. by then I'd traveled to far down the hardware malfunctiony nightmare of the xbox. :P

In contrast, my PS3 has never malfunctioned. Ever.

And has rather more than three games. And has actually cost me less than the X-Box has cost you now, considering you've presumably been paying for X-Box live since you got it?

no. i've only been on live for two or two-and-a-half years i think. i have no idea what PSN is like so I can't draw a comparison.

and like i said, the choice i made a long time ago dealt with one console, whose competition came out after i made my decision and didn't impress me with it's launch.

If I get a HDTV and can enjoy blu-ray then I will probably get one, but the no backwards compatibility has erked me.

only on the newer models, the older ones do have it, i think, but yea, that was a retarded move on sony's part.

Yeah, that was a tad annoying, but not a big deal really. PS3 games are, generally speaking, better than PS2 ones. And I have a PS2 anyway.

i dont necessarily think id agree with that. granted i havent played any ps3 games, and certainly some must be better, but i know nintendo, for instance, has got more great games for n64 than the gamecube and wii put together (not counting wii's virtual console). and similarly, i know that final fantasy 13 is not very good, whereas both 10 and 12 are amazing (both ps2 games) but of course these are just the specific cases i know, perhoas the ones i dont outweight them...

Well yes, but Nintendo might as well just shipped turds to their customers with the Camecube and Wii.

KZ2 is better than KZ1. GTA4 is better than San Andreas. Assassins Creed is Awesome. So is Resistance, Uncharted, Red Dead Redemption. New Ratchet and Clank is better than old Ratchet and Clank. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are being released for PS3. Call of Duty is awesome.

Second one was great, the high point of the PS2 series. Tools of Destruction is the best one though, followed by a Crack in Time.
