First bug/glitch. Opening a safe and the icon with the lock and the bobby pin never appeared. I could exit and reenter the lockpick screen but it wouldn't appear. Opened it blind. |

I bought New Vegas the day it came out and I must say that it has improved and fixed pretty much everything that was wrong with F3. What I really enjoy with New Vegas is that pretty much every random object lying around can be used for something - making food items, ammo, or workbench items. One thing that did annoy me about F3 is that other than Rock-It Launcher ammo, most random objects had no purpose, although realistically, in a post-apocalyptic word anything lying around has some use. Hardcore mode is fun and adds not only a realistic edge to the game (Such as water quenching thirst while alcohol and Nuka Cola making you thirstier, etc.), and prevents the player from just blasting their way through the story. Which is another good change to the game - weapons and items work a little more realistically and cost a lot more, preventing you from just getting a bunch of good things right at the start of the game and powering your way through. Damage threshold and weapon strength requirements has been brought back which makes combat more interesting and once again helps prevent you 'breaking the game' early on by overpowering your character. As Yev mentioned, reputation is back, which is another nice change from F3. There are also some amusing and smart references to F1 and 2 sprinkled throughout the game. Basically, New Vegas is what F3 should have been, which is a product of working with the studio who originally created the Fallout universe. Anyone who loved the old school mechanics and aesthetics of F1, F2, and even a bit of Tactics, will greatly appreciate the awesomeness of New Vegas. |

Was F3 a bad game (in your opinion) or did it just fix the problems F3 had? |

F3 was ok. It was really fun the first time around, but once you played through it a couple of times you really noticed some major pitfalls the developers overlooked. Personally I found F3 to be pretty easy once you'd played it once, even on the hardest mode. If you've ever played F1 or F2, you'd understand. |

I really enjoyed F3. Didn't mind the departure from the series. Vegas seems better though. By the way, as soon as you can get This Machine. Easily my favorite weapon. It's not flashy, but it gets the job done. You can use it in close quarters, or as a non-scoped sniper. Very accurate. One of the smallest AP costs I've run into for its weapon type (I can get off four shots in a full VATS use). Amazing damage. Doesn't seem to degrade fast (which is good, because the only ways to repair it are Jury Rigging perk or vendor fix). |

It is. Any move back towards Black Isle's methodology is a good thing (Edit: Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader remains one of my favourite games of all time). Alas my PS3 is in London, and I won't have time to buy/ play it when I'm down there - I've got MOH waiting for me when I get down there, and Black Op's coming Christmas time. While I should get it for my laptop, all my gaming time on this go's to either EU3 or Minecraft. |

As the game is huge, I haven't found that one yet. I'm playing a unarmed/melee character and thus am enjoying the use of the ballistic fist. |

I've run into some unique unarmed and melee weapons. Love & Hate were some hand-claws I got off a fiend and Nephi's Driver (a golf club) I also got off a fiend, but he was a quest-fiend. Also found Golden Gloves in the Lucky 38's casino level. I haven't used any of those though. They're all sitting in my safe in Novac. EDIT: Got the Liberator today. Seems to be a unique machete. Legion leader of Nelson had it. |

Legate Lanius downed. Long live the New California Republic! I liked my strategy for fighting him too. Placed down 11 bricks of C4, told my companion to wait on top of them, sniped Lanius for a solid hit from sneak attack, switched my weapon to the detonator, allowed my companion to grab Lanius' attention, watched as Lanius beat the shit out of my companion, detonated the C4 and did over half Lanius' health (and Now to start over and bring slavery and terror to the West on my next play through. Played a firearm focused character this time. Going to do melee/unarmed next time. |

I decided to start a new game and make a theme character. In Fallout 3 the theme character I made was Don Draper from Mad Men. This time around I figured I'd make a Theodore Roosevelt character since I'm reading the biography trilogy on him. I quickly figured out that Theodore Roosevelt was a real-life hacked character. Seriously, try and come up with S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats for him that aren't game breaking. The only real downside his character had was a Perception lowered to 4 because of his wearing glasses. I lowered Agility to 4 too but that was mostly because I needed that stat point for things more fitting. I think I ended up on something roughly like this: S - 6 P - 4 E - 7 C - 7 I - 7 A - 4 L - 5 Strength probably could have been left at 5 and that stat point should have probably been used in Luck instead. Endurance and Charisma should probably be at 8, minimum, and it could easily be argued that Intelligence should be 8 as well. Luck should be 6 or 7. Perception could be lowered to 3, depending on the point in his life. A boxing injury nearly blinded him in one eye later in life. Regardless, HACKS! |

I think his agility should be higher, what with his handling of rifles/guns and all. |
