Valhalla's Government uses a 3 house system that employs checks and balances. The First house is the seat of the Hegemony an individual appointed from the Council (second house) by the House of Law (third house). It is the Hegemon's duty to put the final seal of approval on legislation passed by the third house through the second house. A Hegemon rules in 10 year terms, elected by members of the council. There is no limit to how many terms a single Hegemon can serve. The current Hegemon is Verrhel Varingue. The Second house is the ("grand") council. The council consists of several members who are in charge of different infrastructural aspects of Valhalla. There are five Seats on the Council. A single council chairman resides for 5 year terms, with a chance to serve a second term. A chairman is elected into his seat by the third house. The current Chairs of the council are as follows: Military Erick Venofran: Science Alia Arrif: Education Que'sidahn: Business Berzhellius Martanus III: Public Services Agnu Rixon: The third house is the House of Law (also known as the legislative branch.) They are an assembly of 300 public elected men and woman who oversee the creation and passing of laws and bills. A single member of the third house can serve for a maximum of 10 years with no chance of re-election. Elections are held for groups of 100 sentients every 5 years, meaning that every 5 years, one third of the house leaves office and a new 100 sentients join. Edited by Saito, Dec 27 2013, 05:55 AM.
