Seraph sat on top of an ancient rock next to a fire. He was on one of the many hillsides of Stout. As he sat next to the fire he said under his breath "Shit, its colder than usual." It was a very odd night, he could see the city from the hill, but it wasn't as busy as it usually was. It was very quiet. He had been camping in the mountains of Stout for many weeks, and it was not usual. |

Wandering around the mountains near a town called Stout, Tass begins to look for a suitable camp site in the failing moonlight. As he crests the hill, he notices a fire a few hundred feet down the rocky slope. Not wanting to interact with anyone but drawn to the the promising warmth of the fire, Tass begins to make his descent in a quiet and practiced manner while using his Farsight to see if there are any potential dangers or threats as he climbs downward. |

Seraph looked at the fire, never breaking his gaze. He heard a noise a couple yards behind him, but it seemed like inches for him. He reached for his sword just in case of danger, never let his guard down. He slowly turned his head behind him. To his surprise, he didn't see anyone. "Damn wind." he said. |

Seeing a person turn around at the last second, Tass stands stock still in the shadow of a rock. Again looking and moving cautously, he notices the person within drawing reach of his sword. Not wanting there to be a conflict, Tass slowly walks into the light of the moon, closer to the fire, with his arms raised, "I don't want a fight, I just want to share your fire for the night" he said. |

Seraph hears the voice from behind, then looks around again. He sees the stranger standing with his arms raised and unarmed. "Well well well, what do we have here? Your human by the looks of you, and you look cold as well. Come, sit by the fire." he said, never taking his hands off his weapon. |

Upon hearing his welcome, Tass slowly but with a determained step moves towards the fire and the strange man next to it. When he reaches the fire, he inspects that man who built it and comes to the conclusion that above all else, he did not want to fight this man. He was not sure who would come out alive. |

"What are you doing up in these hills kid?" he said to the strange man who seemed to come from nowhere. He noted that the man looked extremely healthy for his age, and his crossbow that he held looked very impressive. |

Tass puts down his hands and takes a seat on a rock while taking out some cooking utensils to make his dinner. "just scouting around" he replied."I guide people around anywhere they want to go" |

He was interested now. "A guide huh? And how much do people pay you for doing that? Here have some dinner." He passed the man the scraps of his meal from a few minutes before. He never broke eye contact with the man, always keeping his hand on his sword on the opposite side of the man, just in case of an attack. He noticed something with the man's eyes as he stared into them. He noticed something that he had never seen before, a sort of ever changing swirling quality about it that he could describe. It was almost as if it was looking through him, reading his thoughts. |

nodding his head in gratitude for the food, he begins to warm up the meal. "it pays decently. but i have what you would call an.....overly enthusiastic appetite that can leave me near penniless. I generally supliment my income with high grade mercenary work." As the meal heats up he looks upon the town below them. "i was planning on looking for work tomorrow in that town over there" |

"Looking for Mercenary work? In Stout? Ha." he let out a single laugh, "The only thing you'll find close to mercenary work down there is chasing and gutting chickens for the locals. That's a pretty impressive crossbow, how far can you kill a man away from with that?" he said with a smirk. He knew that the strange man was one who was in desperate need, but he just wanted to see how far he was willing to go to get it. |

looking at the other man's eyes, he sees a sort of recklessness that could turn the situation into something that would end bad for both of them. "I'd rather not say, trade secrets you know. As for the mercenary work, everywhere needs a guide to do something." He said as he quickly devoured the meager meal that was given to him. |

"Hmm, you seem like a pretty interesting guy. I didn't catch your name, mines Seraph. It doesn't really matter what your name is," he said with a smirk, "but tomorrow in the morning I will go with you down to that town and find some work. After all, I am in need of a guide myself. I have been looking for a way to cross Bermuda, do you know anyone with personal experience in the matter?" he said. |

Tass begins to put away his things looking at the other man suspiciously "well, my name is Tass, and you struck me as a solitary man, I find it odd that you wish to accompany me. And i have experience crossing the bermuda, though I only did it once.....I don't know if I want to go through that again, for any price." |

He looked at the man. Could he have really crossed the Bermuda? If so, how the hell did he do it and survive? Just by Tass telling him this, he somehow knew that he has done it before. Mabye it was the look in his eyes, but he could tell that he was telling the truth. He released his hand from his blade, knowing that he could somehow trust this man, but could not defiantly get the feeling of why. "I was just wondering, I have never heard of someone crossing the Bermuda alive except for war heroes and crazy people. It must be quite a story." he said. "Do you have everything you need to sleep? I have an extra jacket if you need a blanket. It's a cold night, the coldest it has ever gotten in this area before by my reckoning. You would do well to keep that fire going." and with that, Seraph was asleep. |
